  1. I use a Viofo A119 with GPS version 3 for the front and a A119 with GPS for the rear Other car has A119 for the front
  2. you want the best alignment? Subaru dealer... they do enough of them so they can dial t right into perfect provided parts are not worn/damaged
  3. the FB 2.5 motor has been in the Forester since 2010... and they suffer the same fate (leaking timing covers).
  4. BtSSM does not work with OBDlink (any of them) I have tried on revision 2/2 with both R3 and R4 firmware on my galaxy S8. No go on android 8 or 9 installation.
  5. I had the same issue with my 2014 at 65K Miles, I called SOA and due to the service history on said car (it was extensive) they picked up 750 out of 850... no more leaks after front timing cover reseal. there are no less than 16 separate places for the timing cover to leak on the mating surfaces of the engine block and head. This does not include any covers on said timing cover. drive your car up on ramps, spray everything down with brake clean and then drive around a few days and reinspect. you will see it seeping from the timing chain cover. Also you can remove the heads without pulling the engine, although the job might be easier/faster if you did.
  6. drove the Ascent and when you get on the beans (all 4 of them) it is not well composed at all... I am much happier with the 3.6R E5AT combo
  7. how not to take pills for corona beer virus https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-usa-chloroquine-idUSKBN21A3Y2
  8. first thing I would do is drive the car up on some ramps and check the oil to water cooler piping. on my 2010 3.6R it is all rusted away and I am going to have to replace it here when it warms up. Subaru in their infinite wisdom ran this pipe right along the front of the engine where it is exposed to salt and other stuff... PCV replace it and the hose if you have not done plugs, do them change your PS fluid change your differential fluid drain and fill transmission again it was due at 60K miles
  9. nice, I was thinking of legacy 3.6R before I got my outback...but I needed the ability to carry larger items in my trunk so I settled for a 2010 3.6R
  10. start with the simple stuff by putting some pressure gauges on it and see what the charge level is.
  11. + one for OEM switch, the aftermarket one will require some wiring skills on your behalf.
  12. same here but 5 or 6 days a week...that is what the 3.6R is for nice comfy highway cruising.
  13. it is not legal here to tint any part of the windshield, even clear tint film is not allowed
  14. while nice to see, I am more interested in long term reliability.
  15. stick your car in -20F temps with no block heater and tell me that. the 0-20 synthetic will absolutely make it easier to start the car.. and flows much better in the cold...
  16. Dr Tranny is made by Lubeguard it is just super concentrated into 2 oz bottle
  17. yeah none of the FB will suffer failures like that. totally different design and no coolant head to block interfaces.
  18. ended up using Valvoline Max life and a tube of Dr. Tranny shudder fix. now at 143k..transmission does not have as much torque converter shudder under light throttle...fluid was pretty dark the first time I changed it. it was much better after the second change...still might have to put a new one in...tq converter that is... doing one more drain and fill.
  19. car gurus is an awesome place to see how outbacks/lecacies are holding up. as of today https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/inventorylisting/viewDetailsFilterViewInventoryListing.action?zip=68014&showNegotiable=true&sourceContext=carGurusHomePageModel&distance=50000&entitySelectingHelper.selectedEntity2=c28434&entitySelectingHelper.selectedEntity=c24457#listing=258917093 6th gen legacy champ Mileage:389,002 miles https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/inventorylisting/viewDetailsFilterViewInventoryListing.action?zip=68014&maxMileage=354000&showNegotiable=true&sourceContext=untrackedWithinSite_false_0&distance=50000&entitySelectingHelper.selectedEntity2=c28435&entitySelectingHelper.selectedEntity=c24458#listing=265712458 5th gen (same platform) outback champ Mileage:325,311 miles
  20. Ford LED fogs can be had for $70 as a set on E-Bay, will fit the above poster's 5th gen car with no modifications required.
  21. let me resurrect this from the dead I live somewhere that routinely reaches -30F and the stock battery on my 2014 Legacy started the car with no issues on a day it was -32F... we had a whole month here were the temps were -20F or colder and the car started every single time even though it was outside. The battery when working as spec'd will start the car under pretty cold conditions. I replaced my battery after 5 years because they are not known to live much past that
