If you are using abs then shrikage will be an issue. HIPS has all the favorable properties of ABS but is much more dimensionally accurate, but requires a much higher temp to print. -

Yeah, it would definitely not be a plug and play mod. -

If, and that's a bit IF, I ever get around to designing it and IF it is even possible, it would be a replacement cover for the usdm face retaining those controls. IF! -

Ordered a lulzbot Taz 5 today. Iv just outgrown the small printer I had. This one had a much larger print envelope. Should be large enough to handle a double din kit -

The 2 + post, and 3 up pods are available. The vent pod is in slow development. Sorry but I don't have any more photos of the pod with gauges in it. -

***Anyone that ordered a V1 kit and had it arrived damaged please send me a PM with your address and I'll send you a a new one and a free V1 also. ** I found out the post office worker was crushing them with his stamp when I was mailing them. No cost for the replacements. I have a better way to ship them now. -

Another Update: I'm starting to build a 4'x4' CNC router table. Will be able to do wood / alum / delrin / etc. Not sure what applications this will have for the Community here but I'm open to ideas. For the CNC nerds: CNCRouterParts: PRO4848 kit NEMA 23 drives 2.2k Water cooled Spindle It will be expanded to 96"x48" eventually. http://www.cncrouterparts.com/images/PRO4848-14-1.jpg -

Just sent 5 more packages. The guy at the Post Office went crazy with his stamper and may have damaged some of them. If so, just let me know and i'll send replacements. I'm going to work on either reinforcing the V2's or finding a better way to ship. I'm getting reports that they are getting damaged in the mail. -

Got 2 drs orders in today. Ill get some inventory built back up and ship on Monday. I'm curious to hear feedback on them. I know they can be brittle and several folks have broke them installing them. My Dev unit is still holding strong after several months and the Aussie guys seem pleased also. I also got the laser engraving sorted, finally. Here is a quick sample on cardboard. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/01/03/e5c9efb6943bf32116c93d21deaeaf00.jpg http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/01/03/40a0ce19fe0b80309ef70a4a311784a6.jpg -

Looks like I'm going g to have to have a custom build of the firmware for my bot to do what I want. Fortunately the I'm able to work with the author on this. -

I'm still dialing this thing in. Didn't make much progress tonight other than changing the control circuit to one with PWM so I can control Intensity, hopefully... I'm not going to be able to do muchore that cut card stock, thin wood, and thin acrylic it looks like. -

That is just testing ATM. With the power turned up it should be able to do glass, plexi, acrylic, wood, most non reflective surfaces I'd think. Keep in mind it's only a 2.8W 2.5A max diode. The testing there was around 1.5 amps. -

Credit card I backed with was not working so the charge would not go through and it said I had one day to fix it or get canceled. All better though -

It is and I do. It's only a 2.8 Watt 2.5 Amp diode but I do have a good set of matched laser goggles. And I keep an opaque sheet over the window of the printer when the beam is on. Other wise my stupid cat would be blind immediately. Still working on fine tuning the laser, sort of reinventing the wheel here. Additive manufacturing equipment isn't really designed for this type of work, but I have had some decent results. Photos are of 1.2 ish amps on cedar shakes i had laying around -

Can't tell if trolling or serious. Or maybe speaking of 5th gen? The only clock in my car is below the cubby and has no open spot in front of it. -

It's good to see everyone pitching in with this. There is so much possibility out there for us, we just need the talent and willingness to make it happen. I'm going to update the first page with a post on folks willing to help design and print for easy reference. I don't and never did plan on making much money from this, (and haven't) but it's good for the community. Thanks to everyone that is making it happen. -

5th gen is absolutely doable, I just don't have access to one. If someone wants to take on the design I'd be glad to work with them on prototyping -

On printer and with quick post cleanup. This will have to be printed with a disovable support for a good finish and easy cleanup http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/12/21/505c94e20d4eba15c20ba2372455fe27.jpg http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/12/21/4b5d9fe2da1d3e6e19c0496389bd498f.jpg
