  1. If you need it printed let me know. I'll do it for the cost of shipping...
  2. That's what I thought I saw from the first photo, but wasn't sure. I'm excited to see a printed version.
  3. That is looking awesome! It's gonna require a ton of support to print though. If there is enough interest, maybe a group buy, I will purchase a second extruder for my printer so I can print the support in a soluble material (ABS with HIPS as support)
  4. Stick of 5"x1'x1" alum is ~$50, the machine work plus shipping would likely be ~$50 also. Looking ~$100 for a crude ballpark, subject to change. Keep in mind, not my design.
  5. Looks awesome! I'd be glad to print these for you if you need that service. From looking at the photos, I'm fairly certain I could CNC them with my router also out of aluminum. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
  6. I feel like that's a great way to either blind myself or tear something up and CO2 lasers are invisible to the naked eye. Making progress with all this stuff. Have been cranking out jeep taillight covers on the printer and scads of keychains on the laser. Router has been neglected a but of late. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08/16/5bb8db74b81bc144bf57edbc53750355.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08/16/de061e2f9bd5295984ef13077914ffb7.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08/16/57551e47a255b53aa304ddb49c8e49e3.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08/16/08fab1cc8ebfa9352b4b41d5921a431b.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08/16/8413da79dd48c6f5a090c8302c79cd20.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08/16/a0e57bbe8e162b97411ba15ee5e10211.jpg
  7. Looks great. I see a few issues for 3d printing that could be overcome pretty easily but I'd feel comfortable doing that piece for $25 or so. Or it could be laser cut in a couple pieces and welded together with solvent. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
  8. I wish. 3 for now, same as the router. I'll add a 4th axis soon though Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
  9. Made a few successful cuts last night using the machine. I can cut about 3/8" into a 2" x 4" at full power and 50 mm/s speed. Can cut clean through 5mm plywood also in 2 passes. I'm hoping to finalize the install of the machine over the next couple days and have it in production. I want to hear some ideas you all have for products to benefit the community.
  10. I could do them on the router or laser, but they are already available and Im not going to compete with other vendors
  11. I looked into this a while back. IIRC on the usdm cars there is something solid behind the reflectors so a vent was pointless.
  12. Boom, 60w laser engraver / cutter arrived today. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08/11/1b75e52fd988d77f7faa679916e41754.jpg
  13. Just pm me. I need to fix the site. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
  14. Its probably me, ill just have to design it Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
  15. A gauge pod takes about 4 hours. The taillight covers about 2. I have a few more second quality items I'm about to list in the for sale section. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
  16. Just a few videos of the printer at work edit... need to slow down the frame capture rate a bit looks like lol
  17. The CNC is fully operational now. And.... I just made an offer on a 80W laser cutter / engraver. We shall see how that works out. I have the file for the gauge pods but haven't had time to print any tests yet. I'll work on that this week after I get a few orders out.
  18. Just experimenting with my software. It looks like I can make the triple pods out of solid wood / material. Can't do the double due to the angled design. Here is an idea what it would look like in Padauk.
  19. I was able to get most of the spoil board done today. Ended up breaking my t-slot bit though. I'm ready to start routing crap. Going to attempt to make a triple gauge pod on the router. Here is my spoil board layout
  20. They go in that space. One should do it. If your gap is larger than the spacer you can try moving it towards the center of the dash. If it's is still too short pm me and I'll make you a slightly taller set
  21. I've been doing a lot of experimenting and have had some great results. I'm hoping to have the router finalized this weekend so I can really dive in. Made this for a friend, currently finalizing a dust shoe also.
  22. Router is alive. Tooling will be here tomorrow, just need to attach spoil board https://vimeo.com/134081813
  23. It's probably doable. Not the best solution but I think I could print it. The issue would be the opacity. You'd have to use something like t-glass filament to allow enough light to pass through, but then you'd run into weathering issues. Post some photos and we can see what we can do.
