  1. I have the shittiest luck with this car. Decided to finish my Koni insert swap today, drivers side went great.. but passenger side.. sheesh, the axle popped out at the diff side. Tried to encourage it back in but it's refusing. Is it new axle time? Sucks, this axle's barely a month old.
  2. For the Wagon or Sedan? Keep an eye out at your local Pick-n-Pull or junkyard. They show up quite regularly. Yakima Railgrabbers and Round Bars from Kijiji (I bought a set of long bars and RailGrabs for $50 for the pair) work as well for when I want to haul more stuff around. With Thule and Yakima releasing "aero" bars a lot of people are upgrading and selling their old sets. https://yakima.com/products/railgrab-4-pack
  3. yeah the shop loosened those to do the LCA and axle.. so at least then I can do my Koni fronts later this week hopefully..
  4. Shop put it on a hoist, cut the wires off and one guy hammered an extractor socket onto it, used a 5' long breaker bar while 2 guys torched the manifold.
  5. Finally got that seized O2 sensor out.. put a new one in and waalah! no more CEL. Here's to another 17 years/160,000kms.
  6. Airboy did mine long time ago.. https://www.airboytuning.com/ Make a road trip when the borders open up again.. it'll be worth your time. ;D
  7. Yakima Railgrabbers with round bars come up fairly often on Kijiji or Craigslist (or even Facespace). With everyone going to aero roof bars you can find Yaks for cheap.. I got a pair of 50" wide Railgrabbers for $50CDN off Kijiji.
  8. Yep, bought it in Fall 2004. Still brings a smile to my face every time I drive it.
  9. Thanks Max - No, I have a CNT downpipe - I believe the tail end is 3".
  10. After running with a Stromung since the msprank's GB I'm thinking of going back to a stock cat-back for a change. What gaskets am I going to need? Looking at Opposed Forces: - Grimmspeed 2.5" to 3" converter with a Subaru donut (#38) - 3" gasket for converter to OEM catback - 2x 2.5" gasket (44011AE01A) for the mufflers
  11. Great writeup! Can't wait to see what comes next.
  12. So with part availability starting to get expensive and sucking.. if one finds a GT in a pick-n-pull yard, what are good things to start hoarding?
  13. Well first you gotta ditch that sedan and get a wagon... Joking aside, look at etrailer: https://www.etrailer.com/roof-2005_Subaru_Legacy.htm
  14. LonelyDriver has a 5mt, not sure if he still has one - he's up here in Canuckistan though.
  15. Yeah I tried to DIY it to no avail. I soaked it in PB daily for about 2 weeks, tried to torch it, then used the socket with a hose clamp over it (to stop it from spreading) like you had advised.. but it wouldn't budge. Maybe if I could get the car off the ground high enough for said long-ass breaker bar (and beer) it might work.
  16. LCA, axle replaced. Shop couldn't get the O2 sensor off and advised me to start looking for a new manifold. Their next step is to weld a socket onto the O2 sensor but that might wreck the threads and have to re-tap.. What do y'all think? (Besides looking at buying a JDM wag)
  17. I don't know if Airboy tunes JDM Subarus, might be worth giving him a call. Sharp looking car though. That underside looks so clean...
  18. I have that DIY kit installed for ~10 years now.. still solid as a rock.
  19. I had Michelin Pilot Sport AS4 installed.. I like them. Previously my tire guy recommended AS3+, but AS4 replaced them last fall.
  20. Yeah my dealer charged me $80 for that part... Epoxy didn't work. Nor did gorilla glue.. I found a black one on @codger2, there's 2 Legacys at PnP Calgary.. will probably be cheaper and quicker than ebay.
  21. Gave up on getting the O2 sensor off. Will let a shop figure it out. Replace a busted taillight.
