  1. For you other GGM cars, what rim colors do you guys prefer? I'm looking to stick to something between silver and black but cannot really make up my mind on what works well with our car color. I'm afraid that a grey/black rim will blend in too much with the tire, wheel well, and the rest of the car. Any thoughts on that?
  2. I saw a bunch of Legacies, but I think I saw three GT's today. First one was a black 4th gen GT going southbound on 95/128 while I was heading north. The second one was, I think, a black second gen Legacy GT just in the next lane over. It didn't have a hoodscoop, but the badges on the trunk made it clear it was a Legacy GT (and driven by a cute red head - probably Nrw). The third was a blue wagon heading south with a hoodscoop. I didn't catch it if was a Legacy or Outback. Funny what you can find when you're stuck on a mess of a highway.
  3. Not a Subaru sighting at all, but I saw a Tesla Model S at a Dunkin's in Waltham this morning. I had to look up where one would buy a Tesla around here (answer: Natick). Looked sweet. If it wasn't more than twice the cost of my LGT with only half the range (and I didn't already have a brand new car), I'd have to seriously think about buying one.
  4. Tuesday evening around 7:40ish, I was on 95/128 northbound heading to route 3 north when I flew by a dark 5th gen Legacy with dual exhaust in the far right lane. I ended up getting into the lane with another car between the two of us as we both took the exit for route 3. While taking the slow turn to get onto route 3, I decided to slowboat it in the right lane and wait for the Legacy to pass me so I could see the badges. The Legacy went to the far left lane and (eventually) passed. I quickly crossed over and saw the 2.5GT badge on the trunk. A couple moments later, the other LGT moved over a lane so I revved up accelerated pass with a brief pause to see if the other driver was in a playful mood. He didn't change his speed at all. Pretty certain it's no one on here.
  5. I spotted a silver LGT wagon on 95/128 southbound. The wagon got off at exit 29. It looked stock and the driver had a hat.
  6. Billerica. I drive to Waltham for work. I've already met you at the previous tuning day, and I'm planning to be there on Saturday as well. But seeing people at a meet is different then just running into someone on the street.
  7. I'm 30 minutes and I never see anyone from this forum.
  8. So, far, I've seen 2 wheels in 19x8.5 with a 5x100 bolt pattern that I like. I'm not sure about other details on fitment, so I need to do more research (which I'm finding difficult to do). I'm not really paying any attention to other widths. TSW: Nurburgring (Town Faire Tire quoted me about 2 grand for a set of 4) BBS: CH (580 - 610 each according to BBS USA's website) Enkei doesn't really have anything in 19x8.5 5x100, which is too bad. Work has some options, but the aforementioned prices are ridiculously expensive (although I haven't done more research than just a quick glance). Edit: I thought the BBS CS-5 came in 5x100, but that's incorrect. Too bad, too, since its was the wheel I've liked the best so far.
  9. Compared to how much for a similar 18" wheel? 600? How much money does moving up 1 inch cost? That's what I'm trying to find out.
  10. I understand they're more money. But when more money means "3-4 thousand dollars", that's freaking scary and no longer "well, the wheels are 1 inch longer in diameter". That's why a frame of reference would be nice.
  11. Work seems to have a lot of 5x100 19's available, which I'm in the market for. What's the damage for your 18's? Their online store has prices that are absolutely terrifying.
  12. I'm a programmer and thought today's xkcd comic was pretty neat. http://xkcd.com/1188/
  13. Err, that's not how kids are taught to drive in Mass/NH. There's no simulators and the only time there's a 25:1 ratio is during classroom book work (read these laws, fill out these Q/A exercises). During a typical driving hour, one student drives and 1-2 kids observe in the back seat. The instructor sits in the front passenger seat with a brake pedal. I was simply commenting on how teaching them to drive at the same time is exactly what driving instructors already do all the time.
  14. More or less what a driver's ed teacher is already doing. That's why there's "driving hours" and "observation hours".
  15. I passed a white 4th gen LGT on 129 in Wilmington yesterday afternoon. I gave a half-hearted wave as I continued towards the strip malls.
  16. My wife can drive a manual. She takes my car all the time if I'm not driving it somewhere myself.
  17. Are they not allowed to take your Legacy?
  18. I don't see how that will change. At best, you'll still be outnumbered 2-1.
  19. If a vendor came up with a kit to remedy that, I bet there'd be interest.
  20. Saw a silver LGT wagon on 128/95 northbound in Waltham around 7pm. I was merging onto the highway at exit 27 and was making my way to the left lane. Slid behind a SUV and in front of the wagon (which I didn't realize what it was at the time). Apparently, the wagon took offense and beat me to the left lane and accelerated past me. About a minute later, I was caught in 6th as he took off to eat up the open space in front of him. Had to drop to 4th in a hurry to keep up.
  21. From day three (first two days were in the hospital), there are only two places that our baby sleeps: on us or in her crib. At no time has she ever spent an entire night in the same room as both the wife and I.
  22. There weren't any obvious exterior mods on the car and I didn't pay much attention to the mufflers or inside the grill. The Subaru and 2.5GT badges were still on the trunk. If she has darkish-blond hair, then it might have been her.
  23. I saw a baby blue 4th gen GT on route 3 South at the junction for 128/95 this morning. The driver was a member of the fairer sex and easy on the eyes.
