  1. How many GGM cars have been blacking out the chrome around the windows? I've been contemplating doing this, but I'm on the fence.
  2. I didn't notice any. The car was going in the opposite direction so it was some ways away from me.
  3. Marriage only changes a relationship if you apply connotations to the "event". Getting married to my wife, however, was very organic. Our relationship was evolving to the point where getting married simply made sense. It wasn't a goal; it was just the next step in the direction we were both heading towards. And it helps that on most major things (house, money, children), we're usually in agreement. Every time I think about it how we met, how our relationship formed (eventually), buying a house, getting married, and having a daughter... I'm always taken aback at how everything transpired. No step ever felt forced. Combined with how unlikely it is that the two of us are even together in the first place makes things even more interesting to contemplate.
  4. Did you ever find the 2012 pictures you were asking for? I've yet to see any vacations taken in 2012.

  6. Considering what she did and today's dependence on technology, a text message apology is somehow unsurprising.
  7. If there's one topic of knowledge that I hope to impart onto my daughter (and future children), I hope it's science. The wife is an English major, so things could go either way.
  8. Every time I see this thread at the top, this is the first thing I think of for a slammed Legacy: http://www.car-accidents.com/2007-crash-pics/12-17-07-subaru-crash-2.jpg
  9. I saw a stock black 4th gen LGT in Jamestown, RI right after the Memorial Day Parade. I was walking back to the in-law's house with the family.
  10. I saw a silver 4th gen heading north on Rt. 3 while I was heading south just after noon. I didn't see a badge on the grill. Maybe Ian?
  11. There's a blue 4th gen GT at an office park in Chelmsford pretty close to the exit 29 on ramp for Route 3.
  12. Yeah, pretty much this. I started in southern NH and got a 10% raise after my first year.
  13. Shortly after starting my current job, I was behind a car with a license plate AN41. Had veteran tags so not sure if he was trying to convey a subtle message or simply thought it'd be funny.
  14. That is pretty much my experience, more or less. I've gotten a pay bump at every place I've stopped, and my .NET experience in total over the course of my career is about a year now (not including college). I was stuck in database hell for quite some time.
  15. Yep, first job. I had a less than ideal path through college so I was completely swamped my last semester. That job fell from the sky and onto my lap so I pretty much just accepted it when it was offered to me. I got stuck in databases for a few years, but found a place I could branch out and do some .NET development (and much improved salary). So far, this mostly describes my 1 year old. The wife and I already know that any additional kids we have will never be as well behaved as our daughter.
  16. I can understand that, actually. I'm only 4 years older than you and 5 years removed from college. I was paying about 800 dollars a month in student loans on a $38,000 salary (my first job wasn't exactly the best job ever for a Computer Science graduate). I've certainly solicited my parents for help (and still do), but they were no longer directly or indirectly responsible for my survival once I moved out. Of course, it probably depends on what she goes to college for (if at all). She has a CS and an English/Education grad for parents, and we both have pretty different fields of interest, so there's no obvious direction for parental influence to take as she grows up.
  17. The plan is to have little-to-no responsibility in her well being when she's 25. Out of college (hopefully), on her own, etc, etc.
  18. The wife and I managed to keep a small human being alive for a full year. Only 24 more years to go, give or take....
  19. Not to turn this into a 4th gen vs 5th gen debate, but my 2012 has loads of room for rear-facing seats in the back. Since we were car shopping while my wife was pregnant, a spacious back seat was a requirement. The car seat for the little one is on the passenger side so I can see her (we have a mirror on the rear passenger headrest too). Even with the front seat slightly reclined, there's ample legroom for anyone sitting there. Make fun of the exterior dimensions if you want, but it helps result in a comfortable sedan for the entire family that just happens to have AWD and a turbo.
  20. I saw a black 4th gen LGT in the center of town in Billerica just before 1pm. Didn't see the car fast enough to wave before we were already past each other.
  21. Heh, I was in Jamestown all day yesterday visiting the in-laws. Didn't see any hood scoops, though. I guess I was one bridge too far away.
  22. I saw a silver 5th gen 2.5i in Hudson, NH today on Lowell Rd. I only mention it because the grill was plastidipped so I suspect it is someone who is on here.
  23. The best wheel style I want is in glossy gunmetal. Hopefully, that's lighter than the body color.
  24. What about a dark grey? The wife isn't too partial to silver (when asked for her opinion, she prefers black), but it is probably the color that stands out the most that I am considering.
