  1. It's easy to forget when we are sitting on parts. if they were on a Legacy and you are planning on putting closer to Outback sized tires on them you will also "appear lower"
  2. If you can find pictures of Xtea's car you will see the height. I don't think he ever had a build thread though. You will just have to search his posts. You will be low. Probably slightly lower than my car is.
  3. If I had gone height adjustable coilovers from the beginning I think I would have been happy. Much easier to swap springs / height around. As it is, I don't feel like spending the $3k+ for Ohlins. And anything below that seems to be pretty hit or miss in terms of comfort / quality. HDPE spacers are like $30
  4. The shock perch on the HDs is higher. I have miles of clearance there. It's the body that's all up in the way (mostly in the back). I think I am going to run 245/45/18s as my next tire size to get my speedo back on track. I am also going to raise my car up some amount. Haven't decided between 1/2F -3/4r or 3/4f (already have that spacer) 1"r
  5. For a daily, I have had good luck with Akebono https://legacygt.com/forums/showpost.php?p=5879469&postcount=2754
  6. You might be able to contact Hexmods to and validate the build.
  7. Strange mine sends me to a post started in 2019 to sell a 05 through 06 trans that was built by Hexmods for 2k (2.5k shipped)
  8. They say that. Yet, I still broke my stock pistons at Stage 2 (i.e. just a downpipe) from a reputable tuner. The forum knowledge (from Max Capacity mostly) is that OEM is fine and it has been from him. The builder's knowledge (M Sprank / Infamous Performance) was, the pistons are a known weak link. Why not correct them if they break? I decided to go with the builders knowledge. So far it only cost me about a quart of oil every 2k miles due to looser forged piston tolerances. Here you go: https://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/05-09-subaru-legacy-5eat-built-transmission-hexmods-277920.html
  9. Going to the snow this weekend, so we will see how competent Toyota's AWD is. You can actually get a 2-3inch lift kit for the Sienna. That's a Northshore rack 4 bike - http://www.northshoreracks.com/NSR%204-bike.htm I like it a lot for 3+ bikes. For 2 bikes I would prefer a normal hitch rack, just because it's easier to use. And bikes are so long now a days that I hit the back tire occasionally on the ground.
  10. I was already soccer vanlifing http://i.imgur.com/OLyQwqW.jpg But my wife decided she liked driving the minivan so much that I never do anymore and it's her main car. So maybe I'll go 4x4 vanlife But yeah, I would seriously miss my car if I sold it...
  11. I really like your wrap. How hard was it to install?
  12. Responding to this here because I think this is where you meant to ask. There were a couple considerations that went into not getting injectors (If I was doing it over again I probably would have got a DOM1.5, GS, and injectors when I got my engine rebuilt just do to it then. And what's 2-3k more when you are spending 8k....) 1. For VF52 levels they aren't needed if you are not running E85. There are performance benefits, potentially, but it's mild. 2. You need an aftermarket 02 sensor for an eTune, or you need a dyno tune. I didn't feel like messing with any of that. 3. I have top mount injectors already as my OEM ones. And recently I am really not using any of the power ever. Short on ramps allow me to floor it through 2nd and 3rd. That's about it. I keep thinking I'll eventually go DOM1.5xtr, but realistically I have 0 need for that power and it would cost close to $2.5k My next large purchase is probably a 6speed. But, also I don't really need that either. My car has been pretty static lately and I am not really sure what I want to do with it. Maybe I'll sell it and #vanlife That works well with a wife, kid and two large dogs
  13. 32GB. 16GB will leave you banging your head against a wall wishing you had just a little bit of extra. Plus, Androids seem to suck at working if they are at all close to their storage limit.
  14. It's super easy to add bluetooth - I have been using something like this for the last 7 years https://www.amazon.com/Mpow-Bluetooth-Receiver-Hands-Free-Isolator/dp/B0739RGDFJ/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1551304331&sr=8-2-spons&keywords=car+bluetooth+receiver&psc=1
  15. If it helps, I like the PF01s a lot and was strongly considering them. It has all the right buzzwords, 4 piston calipers, made in america (aluminium frame), most highly prized tires in the industry, custom powder coat, etc etc.
  16. I spent about $6k on a bike (and bike related pirchases) I have to get my money's worth now
  17. I got a USDM double din conversion from Mike (M sprank). Just need to decide on a head unit. I am in no rush though. I keep dumping all my money into mountain biking.
  18. JMP in Oakland is also pretty good. It's short and techy. Crockett Hills in Crockett has a decent single track (shit right now because of the rain though) Best for active rain is going to be Rockville park in Rockville. Techy / rocky. China Camp is great because it holds up well in the rain has a well signed "main loop" and then a bunch of unsanctioned (but not illegal trails) on the backside. Backside really isn't beginner friendly. Frontside (what you see on a trail map is) Thanks Mark. my two year old is super ******* whiny and his response to everything is No. No matter what it is. Once we get passed the no, then it's well Hope all is well you and your car(s). Did you ever get the manual you were looking for?
  19. That looks great. Mine has its own fits. Like when the road is too bumpy the volume changes and the screen flickers.
  20. It's called China Camp state park. It's in Marin / San Rafael California. I have been biking there for about 6 months. This was the first time this happened. Typically that's a field for a half mile to the bay. It was a king tide and flooded. I was really lucky that I had parked at "high" spot.
  21. Reposting Rebourne's edit of my picture. To do: 1. Install double din 1.a decide what stereo to run 1.b back up camera 2. Fix leaking rear backup light - I have the new gasket 3. Unplug VDC from steering wheel 4. raise car - front .75, rear probably an inch. 5. Eventually when I get new tires I'll probably go to 245/45/18s. oh also rotate tires and oil change (I ran out of my Tokyo Roki stock )
  22. I mangled the power steering o-ring when I installed it. So there was zero seal. When I turned on the car and turned the wheel fluid literally poured out of the pump all over the place. No local dealer had them in stock and I had to wait a few days and then completely bleed the PS steering. I think the air bubbles introduced from the pump caused the reservoir to overflow and piss fluid everywhere. Huge mess super time consuming for something that was supposed to be simple. I just did everything wrong that I could.
  23. I tried it. It was the biggest debacle ever. Just make sure it seats correctly so you don't mangle it when re-installing. It should all be fine.
