  1. I have the 5 inch muffler and a vibrant bottle next resonator and it made a huge difference. But it of course is not as quiet as the OEM mufflers (sort of the point). It was just starting to wear on me by like hour 3 of my 6 hour drive to see my family. They are easy enough to take on and off though and a I keep doing that.
  2. It's difficult. The bumper beam is in the way. Or something metal is. Those, don't hang below the bumper. Although, I had to pull mine off because they were too loud as the only road trip car we have.
  3. Thoughts on the Diamondback 4c? With discounts it comes to $2.5k. Seems pretty awesome for the price. https://www.diamondback.com/release-4c-carbon
  4. Only if you pull the fuse. If you disconnect the steering angle sensor it just disables VDC and TC and leaves ABS and EBDC alone.
  5. Newest thought is, if you can replace the steering angle sensor with a 2015+ WRX sti sensor it should all work. The sensor is $300(ish) though. I need to figure out if it would fit and see if I can find a used one. Alternatively you just unplug it and get it disables VDC and Traction control and works fine. VDC has helped me once on a mountain road when I was being an idiot.
  6. I think all headlights on 10 year old cars are always in need of polishing. I really wish we could buy just the OEM lens.
  7. Let me Google that for you: https://www.dmv.org/co-colorado/smog-check.php
  8. also 3mm is really not enough to make a visual difference at all. I have 3mm spacers and bolted them on and literally no change in looks....
  9. Nope, I have 2x10 on my Ironhorse and 2x8 on my VP free.
  10. Dude, I know. What's with this 1x10 trend. Do they know how weak I am? Just found out this is being built near me. http://www.dirtworld.org/ Looks like I need to add a pump track / dirt jumping bike to the list
  11. My brain right there ^ I also don't want to get too much bike for my local trails. That would make them boring. I guess just rent and figure that out.
  12. I have replaced everything but the wheels in the last 5 years and then kept it inside
  13. Looks like I am at the right time though. Loads of bike demo days coming up. Which means if I demo a bunch of bikes I'll probably never need to buy one. All my time for fun riding will be spent on 2018 bikes
  14. I got a bike trailer this weekend to at least bring my kid with me on easy rides. It's been too long since I biked. Which also made me re-realize that I really want a replacement for my 2005 Iron Horse hardtail. I need better tires for pavement. These suck. Which made me circle through steel 29er? steel 27+? 29er full suspension? No idea what I want. I have been riding squishy bikes since I was 13 and I think I "prefer" squish. But that also might be because I haven't ridden a good hardtail. There is a Santa Cruz demo near me this weekend. I figure I'll go ride a Tallboy. See what these modern 29ers are all about (although, I have never ridden a 29er and only one 27.5 once)
  15. Yep, that looks so much better. How are the seats after living with them awhile?
  16. My full face has saved me so many times. I sort of can't believe I ever bike without it. But you know I don't want to be a nerd.
  17. Guess I should ride one. I am a VP Free with 8 inches of travel and a cheap Iron horse hardtail with 26ers. Any other bikes in that vein I should be considering?
  18. And who has a DOM1.5 installed with a built engine? I think in the scheme you are winning.
  19. Magunsonsubie beat you to it Looking forward to seeing your setup.
  20. MTBwrench, thoughts on the Trek Stache?
  21. On the plus side that should be easy to find / cheap to fix right?
  22. Great point. Let me go tell my wife to suck him back up and reabsorb him. Your .02 cents just changed my life.
  23. It was a slight rake for me. But I am always carrying things so that's what I wanted.
