  1. Whats the mileage/condition on the knuckles? Not expecting much life in the hub/bearing but more wondering about the pinch bolts and races, any wear ?
  2. The most popular vehicle in America is a V8 Pickup truck we clearly dont care about MPG and we don't stop buying gas or there hasn't been a price we stop buying it yet. My biggest gripe about the EV wave is the good looking ones cost $$$$$$ or they dont cost $$$$$ but they look terrible. Price aside if it looks like shit (all these Mach-E/Tesla clone cars) most will pass, most of the folks like me. The new car buyers aren't us, they truly want a gadget vs performance/styling.

On a side note ive never seen so many fueling, induction and catless items for sale on the secondhand markets in the DMV area all I see are "bought new not installing my loss your gain" sales for catless DP/J-pipes, TGV deleted, Flex Fuel and all those things AP is useless for installing going forward. I have my OEM DP but I also run a catted GS DP, i never had a problem passing emissions here in VA but im sure those in the sniffer states have other problems.
  4. If your end goal is to get a new/different turbo I would uninstall the FMIC and wait until you have both ready to go then get a new tune for the FMIC w/ new turbo. That declining DAM isnt going to fix itself until remove the FMIC is removed or you buy a revision/tune.
  5. Exactly. my 08 LGT has 213K on the clock I bought it for $6k in 2017 with 160K, outside a replaced turbo and a rogue mouse that chewed the stock boost controller wire, shes been good. Every day you drive a paid for car it pays you back it what I like to think any Now that I have two kids I think I'll look into a newer, but not new OB or even a a CPO WRX. Both are roomy, one is MT and I still enjoy driving WV back roads in all seasons. The Corolla seems fun im glad they at least gave the MT another shot, it wont sell and will be discontinued, but it exists.
  6. And that is what im used to but recently its just straight to PM and the user account is the same day old . Luckily I found a freshly wrecked 09 and got the turbo off of it, now I can finally get a rebuild while avoiding 3 weeks of down time. All that is left is a Y-pipe and UP now

  9. Currently my 08 LGT which was functioning perfectly (Audio HVAC wise) is not. I have illumination but no displayed info, the HVAC button will change fan speed and mode but the digital displays for both HVAC and Radio and my Clock are all not functioning. No recent work other than swapping out a failed Mode Actuator motor, but that didnt require touching anything behind the radio. Also prior to all this, this same thing would happen on cold mornings but once the car warmed up it would function as normal. Any leads would be great

  11. For those with the JDM kit, have you ever ran into an issue where upon starting the car the HVAC system is set to FULL blower at whatever temp you last had it set and is unresponsive ? Recently mine has been doing this, and after a few mile i can turn it off but its just bizarre. I guess i should order a replacement before it completely kicks the bucket
  12. If the amp is external it would use the same I/O for the new aftermarket head unit, other than that there is no amp in a 99 Legacy outside the one integrated in the H/U. If you want to wire in an amp thats the same as any other vehicle.

  14. I see it as their last effort for I.C.E. WRX/cars. The global platform scream vanilla EV all day and the SPT would probably mop up against the 6MT based models, Im sure some influencer on car Tik Tok will be like "SPT vs 6MT watch till the end!" I suppose we all saw this coming with the 5th gen Legacy and again with the WRX/Impreza split. Im sure it will be a fun car its about the size of a Legacy now. The no one is speaking about that rough rear end not sure which design engineer lusted for a old M6 but they should be fired
  15. Great point^ and I'll add it could be a failing AC Relay. MY 08 GT would do this, last year, checked the relay with a multi meter and it was junk. plugged in a new one and problem solved. The blend door issue is a bit more involved to fix, getting to and greasing the mechanism, but I too need to do that at some point.
  16. That dealer would rather you buy a new legacy than to deal with the 2013. It’s a bummer bc the rest of the car is nice and outside of drinking oil, is reliable. $3400 to reseal a 2013 FB25 isn’t terrible IF it’s exhaustive. My worry is how are you sure there isn’t excessive bearing wear already? Or if the ring clearance/positioning is off? You almost have to entertain a new short block over this resealing purely to give you peace of mind. FBs aren’t anything special but in terms of warranty maybe the dealer would offer you a short block warranty if they do the work, to further add to peace of mind.
  17. You have a pic of these installed? I asked a eBay seller about these exact mufflers a few months back they said they don’t mate up to USDM stock y-Pipe. These do sound great from the few clips I’ve seen

No reviews b/c most folks who run them aren't the reviewing type its either a situation where they "need the car running" or they dont want others to know they arent running a non-IHI/Name Brand snail. Most owner arent on forums they are "normal" folk that dont care about the part as long as the part fits their budget and the car runs. What steers most folks away on forums, is if a cheap turbo fails your otherwise good $6K engine is toast, even when you are doing all the other things correct i.e. changing/checking your oil and using the right type and good quality oil. You can go cheaper than OEM and get a much better VF46 from an aftermarket vendor or buy one of the remans VF46 from RockAuto at least that is a IHI Turbo so no doubt about fitment

If the noise is RPM related and not external i.e. AC, ALT, PS then its something behind the timing cover, in the engine, or a loose heat shield. when the dealer replace/fixed that leak where was it coming from? If you can, try to get a video under the car while its making this noise. Are you running 10w-40 b/c you live where it is cold or did someone say it "fixes problems"? Do know the service life of the car? When was the timing set replaced? How many miles are on the car?
  21. I was in your boat I am mostly stock but I have a GS DP and Dynomax mufflers. Really it comes down to trying out various muffles to get the right sound, however that isnt cheap. I listened to hundreds of videos ranging from stock STi to Flowmaster 60 Series to gauge what I wanted. Your build you might want to go 100% back to stock and start cheap/free with a hogzaust purely to gauge sound of that, if you like it its a matter of the best muffler to mimic it. My favorite exhaust was a STi with a Q300 inside and out BUT all those are backorder/no status for the LGT when I was shopping. The SPT (either version) is great but nearly impossible to find and if you do $1100+ shipped. My perfect exhaust is the slight rumble of a STi, what baffles me is they have a bottle style resonator but do not drone, you put that on a LGT its drone city.
