Your speedo would only be off by 1.5%. When your speedo indicates 70 MPH, you'd really be doing 71 MPH. I don't remember the size differences, but I changed sizes from stock on my previous Civic for the same reason - to save money on tires and have better selection.

Your average will not be 37 MPG, and your indicated MPG isn't accurate, if that's what you're using. Iv'e gotten great gas mileage cruising in 45 MPH traffic, too, brother! That's not how I drive 90% of the time, and I'm sure whatever driving condition that got you 37MPG isn't your normal pattern of driving, either... FYSA, you can spend a few bucks on an OBD-II dongle and an app and show us what your fuel trims look like? Finally, let's tone this whole thing down and make it into a conversation. I didn't mean to offend you. I simply meant to tell you that an intake without have your MAF scaled and your ECM tuned will net you inconsistent results. You might get a blip more HP here or there, but you may also get dips and other anomalous operation. The net result SHOULD be negative for you, unless all you're looking for is a rad new noise maker.

Battery dead on a 2016.....
gathermewool replied to george-in-georgia's topic in Sixth Generation Legacy (2015 -2019 )
Not as bad as I was expecting as I continued to read, but most chain stores will install your battery for free. As was mentioned, you'd likely get a better battery, too. Lesson learned. -
2020 Legacy Sedan is making its approach
gathermewool replied to SBT's topic in Seventh Generation Legacy (2020 - )
That's mostly my plan, AFTER the first couple of years get the bugs worked out. So, I'll be looking for a '22 LXT in, say, '25. Cobb should be on Ver. 3.X of their OTS tune by then, too! -
When winter tire install time comes each year I'm always surprised how much lighter my Enkeis are on my Legacy than the OEM alloys on my '14 Forester XT. I got my Enkeis with minimal curb rash (only a few small spots), with Conti DWS tires with 3/4 tread depth remaining (and TPMS) for a grand. How much did you get yours for?

My wife was hit in a similar location a few years ago by some redlight-runner. Unlike yours, only the front corner panel was bent in and the driver-side right collapsed under the vehicle. I don't recall the repair total, but everything has been fine since. She was hit hard enough to smack her head against the window when she was hit, but was otherwise OK. Lesson learned: Look both ways, even if you have the right of way. This guy should have been seen obviously not slowing down for his light as my wife turned left.
