Changing out the fog bezel would definitely help. I didn't see that your grill was piano black. it looks more metallic/silver in your most recent pics. I STILL think a regal purple, front AND rear, would look pretty bad ass! I'd honestly really like to see your car in person. I'm sure pictures don't do it justice. I still can't get over those wheels, but the rest is looking pretty good.

New ‘18 owner advice?

that's disappointing news to hear. Sorry for the confusion. I thought I read that you were modifying the H11... -
New ‘18 owner advice?

Thank you for your input - much appreciated! I had the same concerns when I upgraded my Civic to HIR bulbs. In response to your concerns: 1. I used a dremel to modify the bulb tab, which took all of 1 minute per bulb, and that was taking my time 2. Did you thoroughly clean the bulb prior to install and ensure you didn't touch it (e.g., by wearing gloves) to prevent any oils from transferring to the glass? Even still, I won't keep H9's in there if they don't last more than a couple of years. Less than one year is ridiculous. 3. I can't imagine an 18% increase in power will smoke the wiring. It also seems to be a common enough upgrade, that I would think we'd see some reports of issues. I'm all for higher color temperature. Even the OEM HIDs in my '14 FXT are too low for me and they're on the higher color temperature of white. Are you saying that we can modify an H11 bulb to fit in our Legacy? I might have to look into that for the next time. -
Changing exhaust on 2016 Legacy

I'd pay a few hundo for a noise-maker like this; however, I had a bad experience with 5" mufflers on my '08 STI. It droned like crazy and didn't sound very good at WOT. Sure sounded good in the YT clips, though.... I'd have hear it for myself before committing. -

H9 should be a significant upgrade (upgrading my Civic to 9012 HIRs was a huge upgrade). LED should be a change in color, with less actual practical light output, right? i just purchased some H9's. I've just got to find the time to modify them for install. I KNOW it only takes five minutes - sheesh, get off my back! So, OP, do you want more light or "better-looking" light? Don't stray to the dark side! -
Even left and right, within 1/32" front and rear --> even across each tire. Before we moved, most of those miles were on slow roads (45MPH or less), with occasional highway trips @ 5 over the speed limit for four hours, round-trip. Now that we moved closer to one of the local cities, my wife drives a lot of around-town, which is obviously not good for the tires wear. We drive that vehicle maybe 8k miles/year now, so the possible increase in wear will offset the local driving pattern.

Gap Insurance from Subaru
gathermewool replied to Whitesnake's topic in Sixth Generation Legacy (2015 -2019 )
No need to escalate, and my answer is in context with what you asked. What do you mean by, "translation reasons"? There is absolutely no reason to believe a dealer, nor get gap insurance from Subaru. That makes zero sense! Call your insurance provider, if you're confused by this. What waiver are you talking about? In the end, you owe what the terms of the lease agreement dictate that you owe. If you get into an accident, then the leasing agency only cares about diminished value - the car is literally not worth what it was, regardless of who well the car is repaired. I mean no offense, but you're asking a question that should have been asked before leasing a vehicle, not after the dealer, of all people, tell you some ridiculousness. -
The Michelin Premier A/S haven't lasted for shit in our '14 FXT. They're in need or replacing at ~ 25k miles of mild to normal usage.

Gap Insurance from Subaru

This may seem harsh, but if you need gap insurance, then you probably can't afford your car. -
Aftermarket Stereo

I haven't been in the game for over a decade, but the four cars I've replaced speakers in have sounded worse, overall, without an amp. Most aftermarket speakers are built for mids and highs, and I was really disappointed to lose 90% of the low-range. Be careful trying to cut corners with car audio -

Do you even sticker, bro? Don't talk about what you don't know! -
I'd prefer 50 shift points. You know, closer to what it's supposed to do. Moving to 8 shift points is likely for 2 reasons: 1. Makes the AT feel more refined, similar to other makes that are upping the number of gears in their traditional, slush-box AT's. 2. More efficient and less wear, since it's not shifting ratios so broadly at higher loads. For me, at moderate throttle, these shifts feel super rubber-bandy and it pisses me off. WOT isn't actually as terrible, but it's still not desirable shifting behavior for me, at least. I totally understand why your average consumer can't stand historical CVT behavior, but it still pisses me off that we in the minority have to live with this kind of inefficiency.
