  1. Considering you are out of warranty, I doubt they will harass you for washers. If you just get mufflers, It will sound way better. The mid pipe resonator is whats quieting down the exhaust the most. Whatever you do, don't delete the mid resonator and leave the stock cans, It sounds like crap.
  2. Forgot about this thread completely. Spotted in Wrightstown, NJ in May time frame http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/th_33B53201-D87B-4576-B403-23BA1E88F9B6_zpscobraf58.jpg
  3. Yes, that blue T gave me hell 3 days into ownership as my car was already stage 2 when I got it.
  4. Yeah engine went in the winter so it had seen salt now that I think about it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. That's good to hear, most likely this car won't become My DD again so it should stay fixed longer. I miss people staring at my car and giving me props on how it sounded.
  6. New, sitting in a dealership unsold forever. It was about to be shipped off but I showed up a day before. My bad for super late reply, I'm modding 2 other car forums.
  7. That has to be the best dealership I ever been to, most likely its due to it's location being super close to SoA. Quick question, my car sat up for a while(3 years) so it hasn't seen that much Cleveland salt. Would the dealership just blow me off till it showed signs of rust? I haven't had any recalls performed on the car at all.
  8. Yep, A/C is the conditioning of air. Once you get to about 40*F the compressor in most cars is disabled and you are using outside air for a/c purposes. Home A/C and other equipment cuts the compressor somewhere in the 50*F range. In this case it's chemically removing moisture/humidity out of the air with refrigerant. Defrost uses A/C to remove moisture out of the air that is fogging up the windows. Most people don't know it's on when they run defrost their entire trip and complain why the MPG took a hit. In older cars the A/C button would light up letting you know it's on with defrost but after about 97 or so it's a hidden feature. My Cruze will show the defrost icon on the touchscreen but at the same time show A/C off when it's really on. If you are driving in like 89*F weather and somehow thought defrost is somehow colder than regular bi lever air, that is why. I had people tell me they found a real life hack to get A/C without turning it on not knowing the it's already on. Luckily my DD has variable A/C compressor so it steals less MPG when it's on lowest setting.
  9. Reason I ditched my AEM and ran the Blitx modded airbox. if it rained hard enough or I went into a car wash, water leaked down those diamonds and soaked the filter causing maf voltage cels till it dried out. Someone said search a thread where a flower pot was modified but I couldn't find it. yep, I was disappointed when i went to swap the cabin filter in 09 to find out there wasn't one in there for the 1st 50K miles of the cars life between the 2 owners.
  10. This is almost a 1 stop shop thread here. Not driving my car for about 3-4 years made me remember I have lost of other things to fix after it gets running again. Rotors and pads at the minimum.
  11. I ended up with the AMS ones, the belt idea didn't work and I ended up replacing 2 a the gears.
  12. For those with high mileage have you gotten your 200K+ ownership badge displayed? I got the 100k+ one and didn't quite make it.
  13. I Read the thread but in case I messed it, did you also replace the pcv assembly? Now I'm sitting here with an 08 BBBB block afraid of #4 putting me back where I started off a few years back slowly piecing the car together again. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/LGT/th_02051931.jpg http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/LGT/th_0ef6c535.jpg
  14. Spot GT's more and more, I wonder if they are here.
  15. Damn I sign in one day to find out I am the only one with a leggy. I thought about getting rid of it once the engine is back together but after this long and money spent it's pointless. TSi I would get those parts from you but money is an issue. Work is slowing down and the car payments are speeding up. I don't even see the 4th gens on the road anymore around here. People still meet up, F4's pretty much slowly faded to black.
  16. Never tried but non spec to spec sedan was "fun". You take a hammer to the hooks that the non spec had and wish you didn't later when you were unemployed and sold/ traded the interior for tan leather. Just hit me that I never been in the wagon of the LGT or Outback.
  17. Front driver yes front passenger no. You need to keep the 05 passenger seat bottom or you will get the air bag and seatbelt light forever. Yep, don't the the s/o you will be back in a few hrs. Great way to get into a txt war halfway in.
  18. I half assed it tho. Tan interior but black seatbelts, carpet and rear deck. Glove box lock is also swappable just becareful of the spring that flies out when you get it apart. Also cover the bottom of the chair so you don't scratch the center console and B pillars. Gutting a car is fun so long as you are not the only 2 doing it. Those seats get heavy as hell. I still have a 05 passenger seat I need to swap with my 06 one to get the air bag light off. Engine build took priority over a seat swap. Deciding if I want a tan leather LGT gaming chair or sell it after the swap.
  19. I liked the tan interior. Reason I swapped my black interior. Speaking of, how hard is it to take the power seat knobs off?
  20. Nah engine went before I got that far. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
