^^^This for sure. That's what it looks like when you mix original green coolant with one of the other types. I always run the "All makes, All brands, All colors" type of antifreeze so that if I'm ever out anywhere and need coolant, I can simply buy anything and put it in. Didn't add the Subaru coolant additive? Sounds like a plan seeing the super blue or whatever they have now is god awful expensive.

CovertRussian's 05 LGT Build Thread
Merc6 replied to covertrussian's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
Just so I'm understanding it right, we talking the piece that goes above the radiator or the milk jug at the bottom? My heat soak was more so the Perrin Top Mount. I have a STi I/c sprayer tank that is going in with the build. besides that I was mostly a turnpike driver Ohio to NJ through PA after I left the NoVa traffic scene. Burke/Springfield would heat the timc up. I also may revisit the AEM with custom shield later on as well. I'll decide before I grab a tune. -

You have any issues with rain and car washes? I have a AEM w/o the shield and it either gets wet from heavy sidways rain storms into the scoop or car wash undercarriage washes. Maf voltage high CEl would be the code I get when it happened. I loved the sound of the turbo echoing through it but went to the Blitz intake/airbox mod instead. Instead of the eerie howl of a turbo, I have Darth Vader sounds. -

How much fabrication are you able to do in house? -

Shop around, where I live the 257 was already sitting behind the parts counter as the 05 Legacy was a popular car to be traded in with ringland failure. Parts guy says he always keeps a few in stock for the rebuilds they get often. I was tempted to just let him do it since he was a 4 gen LGT owner but also traded in for a 5th gen N/A. I wonder if he posts here? He's not at the notorious Adventure Time Subaru dealership. -
Turbo knowing how I lost mine at 60K would be the 1st item on the chopping board way before the OCV's. I take it you already remedied the Banjo Filter situation.

I scored a STi SB from Ganley Subaru In Wickiffe. Apparently they hold on to blocks cause people trade in damn near dead cars to them all the time. Wish I was still had F4's to help eat some of that cost from Ganley Subaru of Bedford.

Keenster spoke about a shop in Copely called Greg's Machine shop. VF46 is getting sent off to JmP but I like to keep the heads local. baconbits what's your issues to want a new block besides miles and butt pucker factor of all us dead LGT's sitting up like Driveway Gnomes?

Yeah between the Legacy and the Cruze the back seats suck. You would think anything family oriented would have a back seat size comparable to my 98 Buick Century at least. -

2010 #19. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/LGT/th_f579548e.jpg I almost ran the summer one but lost my navigator last minute. Got in a photo shoot just before I ended up with someone else. I also rode with someone on the nightball as my engine wasn't healthy enough to run it. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/LGT/th_IMG_1015.jpg http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/LGT/th_39103_10150266016960651_5824920_n_zpsiykamskl.jpg

I wish my car was running! I did a snowball rally down in Akron a few years back with Club 330 and F4. Miss those days is Lersoc even around anymore?

I kept finding LS2 and LS3 V8's for cheaper than a used EJ long block but factored in custom work needed to make it work. I want the 2 front tires to lift but not that much. -

I soo wish i still lived in NoVa. My build thread would have been a build complete thread. -
what did you hicksta today ?
Merc6 replied to frank_ster's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
I bricked 2 of them sombitches and forgot about it! 1st one was done by battery dying between the flash from eco to stage 2.5 for a NJ turnpike fun run making me run to Cherry Hill Subaru. 2nd one was me thingking the AP didn't need to be unmarried and the car has the same vin so why the eff not? A trip to VA dealership where they argued that the ecu wasn't fried. Have it towed to Worst Buy so they can prove the alarm wasn't the problem. ECU again and then a trip to DPS for Opensource so I no longer touch an AP. Now I'm running tunes off my Toughbook for my DD using EZ Flash. No little green cables to connect or remember to un connect before you start the car. -

Cut the wires on the o2 sensors with the heat shield when putting it back on. -
This is literally the only place I really spot a 4 gen. The rest of the road is 5th and 6th heavily.

There's one like that with red interior near the WalMart in Parma off Brookpark. Carded it 2 times and got nowhere with that.

Welcome, if you find a shop let me know. I'm still needing some stuff done for my build whenever it picks back up again.
