  1. Im assuming that it would depend on the pipes going to the mufflers. It would also be a little louder as SOME gases are still going through the mufflers as well. <---- Wanna know how it sounds....
  2. That seems more understandable than the ghosting though. Video interference will be easier to diagnose than ghosting, because GENERALLY ghosting is a monitor thing, not a video cable being too close to power, usb, etc. Could very well be though!
  3. Thats really weird. Ghosting generally isnt caused by interference within wiring....I can understand interference being visible on screen, but ghosting? Glad you got it working a bit though! Im just not sure that I see the connection between those things and ghosting... Maybe shield your wiring?
  4. Nah laptop HDD's are the most stable. CF is compact, and faster (depending on the interface of the HDD mentioned). Windows is show (in theory) to boot much quicker off of a solid state flash drive such as the one mentioned.
  5. Nice case 1st - You could prolly get away with the audio being in he same connector, dont think the signals are strong enough to interfere. If you were trying to run them in the Power connector, that would be a whole 'nother story. 2nd - Use the 20gb HDD. CF is nice, but less space. Unless you were to throw the operating system on the CF slot, and use the HDD for media. That could be an idea. Quick boot, large storage.
  6. Nope...negative...nuh uh....
  7. lol dunno right now. Sad story. I went home for a week after I finished my finals here at school. Went out and bought a case of beer for the weekend with some old friends. Obviously, took a turn too sharp, the beer slide harshly sideways into my carpc enclosure and shattered/broke the acrylic/plexiglass front which everything was mounted too. Soooo....my comp is all spread around my trunk. Seems that the parts are still fine and fully functional. Its actaully kinda of nice. I rushed the first enclosure to get it done and in the car, now I can think it a little better. RIP old CarPC, hello new one!
  8. The advantage is mostly speed. If you boot to CF instead of explorer, you're only running CF, not explorer. This keeps less things running on top of eachother. Also, you don't boot into Windows interface first, so it looks like its truly booting into CF. If you clear you desktop of all icons and set a plain black background, it will look as if its booting right into CF, more OEM persay.
  9. Argh. Im at a darn engineering school. No such thing as trial and error, should be an exact science! Ill hafta post those pics to prove that it is possible though. Keep your hopes up, Ill deliver, promise.
  10. SO here's the deal fellas. Originally, I had two (2) #8 washers on each of the 3 screw points for the Leggy Lens holder. I was happy with the result, but the cutoff wasnt as crystal clear as I was looking for. So, today, I took out all the washers, as miniSTi said that the lense could be too far away, creating the poor cutoff. Now the cutoff is ALMOST not visible whatsoever. I was happier yesterday. Should I go to one (1) washer so Im in between yesterday and today, or should I try three (3) washers? takes so much time for me to rip these things apart!
  11. Hah, sorry, had to get ya. Well I removed all of the washers now. Will have to test it out when it gets dark. I took a few pics as well. Although, I forgot about researching the foreground limiter....oops Maybe Ill be pulling them apart again this weekend. I really need to get this right, tonight, because Ill be driving after dark for 2 hours tomorrow night.
  12. Your bowels? Might wanna get that checked out man....are they irritable?
  13. Ive trimmed plenty. Will play more with washers tomorrow. It's the "right" washer part that I dont understand. The prob that I have is that I have to drive on public roads to get to a flat spot for aiming. This creates the possibility for me blinding other drivers (like I did last night) and getting pulled over on the way as well. I only have to go maybe a mile, but on highly traveled roads. SOOOO, Im trying to get it right tomorrow, and put things back together. I have no "convenient" lighting spot.
  14. lol wow I thought I was doing it the ghetto way, now Ive got you guys all riled up. Ill have to take some pics when I pull them apart tomorrow (hopefully) I love the color, looks great already, and theyre not even done yet. I had to trim one side per RX330 bowl to get it to fit right in the housing, but that's pretty much it, Ill take pics. Luv, what was this about the "right lense washer" and the "trimming" mods? I wanna know so that when I pull them apart again tomorrow I can finally be done with it.
  15. noam is close, but not totally correct. If you have selected it to run as system shell from within CF, then exiting will automatically load explorer.exe BUT, if you have forced it to run as shell via the registry hack method (as I have), exiting CF will not load explorer.exe, I have to load it myself. Hope that helps.
  16. have to re-bake the lights to do so, o well I guess hah Atleast I like what Im already seeing, which means things can only get better. I had a hell of a time already today, because my RX330's were AFS instead of non-afs, so spent most of the day TRULY retrofitting them.
  17. Alright, so got my headlights in tonight (with the retro) SO....what exactly do the washers do? I have 2 washers right now on each of the 3 screws. The color is good. I need to adjust horizontal, as they are currently focused VERY close to eachother for some reason. The cutoff is VERY dull. I mean, I can see it, but it's not sharp like you guys. Need to know if I should be subtracting washers? What will that do? Etc. The other issue that I have is that I have to drive a little ways in order to get somewhere that I can even attempt to aim them (aka drive on public roads, etc.)
  18. Hah, well if it wasnt for one of you guys, maybe I would. But, Im doing it for someone else. It's black and lightly textured now, looks pretty darn good actually.
  19. So, just thought I'd tease you guys with a bezel that Im about to finish for an EXTREMELY patient fellow user here (You know who you are) With school going on, this has been over a month in the making. Just finished the filler primer today, and hopefully the last sand. Should get the final black and textured coats on tomorrow, Ill take more pics.
  20. Standard bezel? Making it yourself then? The Xenarc, as mentioned, will not fit in any OEM bezel. Either way, good luck!
  21. I havent noticed the droning at my Stg3'ish. The popping that sometimes happens when coming down in the revs is music to my ears, because it reminds me of a true free-flowing exhaust (Granted its only audible during idle revs) I like the sound, cant imagine going back to stock. But then again, this is by far the quietest out of the 3 cars Ive had (stock).
  22. Honestly Im at Stg3'ish, still pondering going straight pipes. I dunno why, but I really don't think it's loud right now. Hog, I know youve done it, and said it's ridiculously loud, so we'll see. It's just that my pipes have a pretty large gap right now with my washers, and it's really only "loud" up high.
  23. Mine as well. I had a full set of underdrive pulleys...none of which consisted of an intake pulley...since we dont have one.
