  1. Mike, Congrats on the system. Quite a bit overkill for a CarPC, I'd think I was looking at a full-blown HomeTheaterPC for your home if I didn't know better But hey, if you got a good deal, why not have the most powerful CarPC you can? Keep us posted!
  2. First, aren't you talking about the midpipe? Why didn't you just put spacers where we're all putting them? I imagine that putting spacers there made your car ridiculously loud, being that I think you're talking about bolts that are only 2-3 feet from the turbo. Also, anything letting exhaust out on a turbo car can only theoretically quicken spool IF anything at all. I'm pretty sure that the only way it could add lag would be on an N/A car because they depend on a certain amount of BP per their current mods/tune. IIRC, Our cars could run no exhaust back from the DP and be happy.
  3. Yeah, it all depends. With my current one, I changed it entirely a few times (adjusted screen angle, etc; which required starting over essentially). I've had filler crack, paint peel, paint debris, paint not stick, etc. Every bump in the road possible. It's funny, I thought that making more bezels would make it quicker, but they seem to take longer because they're just getting better
  4. It's all about learning. I spent about 8 hours on my first bezel (which I eventually sold here to a member), about ~34 hours on my second bezel (made specifically for a member here), and probably 36+ hours on my current bezel (which has been in and out of my car 3 times for perfecting). Unfortunately for me, I'm a perfectionist and won't ship or install until it's perfect. Unless I can get enough interest to get a mold made (which is over $1,200 without hook-ups), it's a complete loss for me to actually cast these in bulk. Without a mold, quality comes at a premium, which is time.
  5. Side jobs how-so? I get interest, lots of questions, but no customers... No one will print/cast/rapid prototype my bezels in the small orders I have...no one will give me their hookups...and no one's looking for the wait-time required for me to make the bezels This is my passion, wish I could make good use of it.
  6. Deltabi, check PM's Pics of bezel I re-finished yesterday: You guys have seen it before, but in an un-finished form. Went with a more recessed screen, better viewing angle. Had it in just 1 day, given 3 rides to classmates; all 3 rides people thought it was OEM. Being a perfectionist FTW! ** A sneak peek at my trunk enclosure below: (Looks so bright due to crappy digi cam, only the etching is lit up, not the entire panel) No pics of it in the car yet, but already loving it. It's a plexi window, custom etched by me. Nice view of internals.
  7. Yes, that is the one that I was thinking of (but didn't want to point it out hah). It is NOT compatible with our cars, or the outback for that matter. It might possibly fit in the 2.5i with the dash kit from Crutchfiled maybe? But NOT LGT's. This is false information, upset me when I saw it a while ago; and hoping that no one has bought it and been disappointed!
  8. If you're speaking of the one that I think you are, it is not a bolt-in kit for our cars. I know that we're on the list of compatible models, but it's not at all true, and I'm not sure why they put us on there in the first place. The kit (if its what I think) is for WRX's only. The only way to get something in the dash of our car's is to A) have a 2.5i, or B) Hack-up the radio & boards. Or, you can put it in the cubby; which requires modifications.
  9. Yeah, I've been sayin' Id get back to you so many times, I'm sorry. This week has been crazy. HONESTLY, expect a reply by Sunday evening, promise.
  10. Yeah there's a chance, not gonna lie. The pipes and flanges are exposed to the salt already, as is the muffler. Like I said before, puddles of water sit inside mufflers anyways; when condensation builds of from quick trips and muffler doesn't get hot enough to evaporate. Im honestly not worried about it. I don't think that the minute gap will do any more harm than my previous winter just did already (BEFORE I installed Hogzawst). Like I said, throw it in! You still have a few months before they start salting roads. If you're worried, take them out. It'll take 10 mins out of your day.
  11. Snow, Honestly, there really isn't any harm over what you're already doing (aka leaving it stock). Hog is right that the pressure going through the pipes is not going to ingest water backwards. The salt vapors that get in are already getting in through your stock/closed setup anyways. Once exhaust is flowing through that joint, it has pressure going that way and is only pushing outwards, not inwards. It's REALLY only a 10 min modification. If you want to take it out before winter, grab a wrench and do so. It's worth it.
  12. It's pretty difficult for salt to go backwards into your pipes. Enough water and condensation already goes in and sits around in your mufflers just from normal driving anyways. I'm honestly not worried about my pipes rusting from the inside out. If they do, in probably 10 years or so, I'll at least have a reason to switch to an A/M mid&y-pipe setup.
  13. Nope. The smiles it puts on your face may cause premature wrinkles though. Watch out for that.
  14. dmiller and I saw eachother on Hoosick/RT 7 in Troy, NY I've finally been spotted.Nice.
  15. I'll finally be joining you guys hopefully again today; Going to finally be putting everything back in. My biggest hope is that my iPhone will work/communicate with Phoco in CF. I'm crossing my fingers, but we'll see what happens. Supposedly iPhones can connect to nothing other than a BT headset, but my iPhone paired easily and successfully with my Mother's Audi Q7. I was able to send calls, receive calls, read my SMS, and use the entire functionality of my address book. I was surprised, as this is "supposedly" not possible (especially according to mp3c@r.com forums). ::fingers crossed::
  16. Im in Troy, frequently in Albany, keep your hopes up!
  17. Not bad not bad. Yes, I did not want to hide the info panel either, I like that information. When I hit that maximize/minimize button, it hides/shrinks the music info bar up-top, but does not change the bottom. As of now, my CF music bar covers about 2/3 of that info bar. Like you said, I'm assuming that I can play with the sizing in the plug-in to get a nice layout. I just got Seb's RR skin working, had to do some code editing for resizing for my screen, make text/font larger, etc. But Sebberry, the problem I'm having now is that the skin doesn't hide/send-to-back Winamp upon launch like the BVM skin does. Any idea which line of code I should add/edit to make this happen? Thanks guys.
  18. Thanks, appreciated. So, to get this straight, before messing with the code, it would almost completely cover the ETA-etc correct? Mine covers about 2/3 of that bar with the music controls.
  19. I'll have to check it out. f1anatic, could you elaborate on which parameters you speak of? That was my main gripe with the iG3 plug-in, becuase I hated that it covered the "ETA", etc. down on that little bar. Also, do you know if anyone has gotten an iPod to work with CF, RR, etc? Streetdeck supposedly works, and CF has the USB button for music, but doesn't recognize my iPod. I'm assuming that I have to set it as an external HD in order for it to work, but I do not want to do so, as it will mess with syncing with my computer.
  20. Hah. Yeah, I don't watch DVD's while driving either (honestly). Just one of those nice things to show off. How's iG4? I've seen a lot about it, not sure if I'm willing to crank out the dough to get it since I already have iG3 (although I know iG4 took some major steps forward).
  21. Nope sir you sure did not! Hah, if you wouldn't mind, shoot me those files. Also, if you wouldn't mind telling me what software you're running behind RR. ie: Music Program DVD Program & Version (if you have one installed) Any plug-ins Etc. etc. etc. I ask because I have Centrafuse XLE, but I miss iG3 (although I can use it within CF with a plug-in, CF covers quite a bit which I don't like). I would like to go back to RR, but I had a heck of a time getting all my software running like it should. Also, I had the standard interface which looked like Junk, yours is a piece of beauty. More the reason to switch back!
