Excuse the dirty side as the neighbor was not very kind with his lawnmower but here's how mine looks from end to end. The 5mm rear spacer is really necessary as the front trac on LGT is 5mm wider in front, and it equals out the F & R. -

I have 245/40-17 Riken Raptors on 17X8 +40 949 Racing UL6 on mine with 5mm rear spacers and the poke is perfect. They line up virtually perfectly with fender lines with about 1/4" sticking out on all 4 corners. -

Those cracks affect nothing. They're inherent in the design once the turbo has been run for any length of time. The VF39/43/48/52 also all develop cracks, much worse than those internal cracks on the VF40/46 housings, and they affect nothing. -
Uppipe downpipe torque

Anything exhaust related-UP to turbo, DP to turbo, UP to header,-anything with a gasket, tighten up evenly but tight. I never use a torque wrench on any of that stuff, so I couldn't give you a value, but I just tighten them up solidly with a 3/8" ratchet or box end wrench. Just make sure you do it evenly in steps so the flanges have a better chance of being as flat as possible. The spray is what I use because it's easier to make a uniform coat and doesn't have any type of adhesive properties. I;ve not seen anything in a tube except for a silicone type of product and you definitely don't want that in case you do need to disassemble. The spray allows the gaskets to seal well and then if you do disassemble it, the gaskets come off cleanly and then re-spray them 3 more light coats and re-assemble and you can use the gaskets over and over. -

Disassemble it and spray all of the gaskets about 3 coats of Permatex Copper Gasket Spray-both sides. Then, tighten them up evenly but far tighter than 26 lb.ft. Generally, the flanges warp after the first installation and if you have a flat plate, you can take the high spots off and make them better. I do the turbo housings with a flat plate and you would be shocked how badly warped the surface on the turbo exhaust housing for the UP becomes. -

Unfortunately, you'll have to drain the system to put the pressure switch in.

My thinking also is front O2. They can cause so damn many problems and don't buy a cheap one or you'll be buying another OE one shortly after.

Changing radiator

If you can fit a pail underneath, it's easiest when pulling the bottom hose off. You'll get about a gallon out of the radiator. Make sure you bleed the system when you fill it back up. -

2005 Legacy GT turbo

$5000.00 tops and all they did was regular maintenance. That's not something out of the ordinary-at least they actually did the maintenance, which could be a good sign. If the turbo is original and hasn't been replaced, look it over carefully, especially look for rust along bottoms of doors, rear quarter panels by rear doors and along trunk lid. If this is all pretty good, drive it, see if it has check engine lights at WOT for multiple cylinder misfire, (rapidly flashing CE light/cruise light) and if all is good, then offer no more than $5000.00 for it. Car is 15 years old and most likely has not been driven easily. That's why people buy turbo cars-because they like to go fast. At $8500, they are in another world. -
Think my timing belt let go....what now?

If it quit at idle, you just might not be in as serious trouble as you would have been going down the road. If the valves just barely touched the pistons, they might be fine. I've seen it before and new belt, idles poorly for a bit, and then straightens itself out, so don't give up just yet. -
