JDM B4 tS Front lip and trunk lip spoiler installed, plus 2013 headlight swap!

Recommended Posts

Sounds fine - let me know...

I am VERY interested to see how the scoop spoiler looks installed - that has also been catching my eye...

Hope you can post some detailed pics and thoughts when the time comes...

I've ordered the Prova air guide and Window visors, but the air guide has been back ordered and i wont get it till the end of Feb. I'll take some pictures of it, and would be more suitable because the Australian Liberty would more likely a closer variant to the JDM Legacy.

Wups, i just realised you wernt talking about the air guide, but the hood scoop

Ok sadly I must report that for the air splitter and the hood scoop trim - NEITHER will fit as a direct bolt-on to the USDM car.

PROVA got back to me about the part # issue- it was a typo on the english version of their site- they only make one version of the air splitter for the 5th gen Legacy's. Even the hood scoop has a very slightly different shape from the non-usdm model, you can see in photos if you look closely.

That being said, I'm not taking no for an answer here. I think I have an idea to make the hood scoop piece work. It will probably involve a tiny bit of fiberglass reshaping on the outer edges, and will likely need to cover up a bit of the carbon with a paint match.

Also, I am planning to modify the air splitter to fit. I have a good base to start with. Basically need to slice about an inch out the middle of it and then reattach the halves and it should be ok. Alternatively, I may be able to take some material off of the front grill itself without it being visible, drill a couple new holes and try it that way. We'll see.

I'm so sorry to hear that both parts you've bought didn't fit to your car. I can feel your frustrations, but I liked your attitude that you won't easily give up on them! I hope that in the end everything will work out for you!

Actually I don't need to change, I'm quite satisfied with my existing bumpers, but I just saw someone posted and selling here a used complete set of OEM S-package bumper for $200+. I'm just hoping it's in good working condition. I think the S-package bumper definitely looked much better and have a lot more options than the L-package one for the front lip as well as the fog lights. I really wanted those LED DRL on fog lights. :spin:

I'm really looking forward to seeing your TK rear diffuser installed.

!!!

Yahoo Japan auctions have bumpers that are slighty damaged, but missing foglight covers and middle lower grille for $60-$100AUD but import costs bumps it up to about $200AUD or so. Can't find any GT bumpers inside Australia yet... Liberty owners here must be careful mature drivers

Hope everything works out for you Brainchild, so far yours is one of the nicest Legacy on these forums, more mods, more pics!!! :D

Thanks guys! We didn't receive the matching powder for the STi rear brembos in time, so just decided to throw the front brakes on for now anyway. The rears should go on next week.

Can you take more pics of your rear? I want to see how your rear with the diffuser would look like if I'm driving and following your car. TIA

Pics on the way! My friend and I just finished a photo session, and I'll get those up once he edits and sends them back.

I'll probably start a build thread in the other section to document everything in one place going forward.
