baller ball bearing billet turbo

baller-industries

Recommended Posts

I am pleased to bring to the legacy community a new turbo option. I have been working with my manufacturer to bring something that I hope every one will enjoy. A stock location turbo with stock out let flange and serious power capabilites but with good transient boost response. My new baller-industries turbo is a billet ball bearing 20g turbo with our new billet 11 blade extended tip wheel. It is a 72mm turbo and flows 56 lbs/min, promising to be a great new option.

i have these turbo also with a larger TD06 setup and with STI style out let.

Legacy style turbos are going to 1550 with water fittings and oil feed.

STI style turbos will be 1450 with water fittings and oil feed.

Who makes it?

I believe NSFW made a mention before that the 20g was never baller bearing, 72mm, nor did it flow 56lb-min. How is this a 20g?

(jhawk222) i am working on getting some dyno number. I put it on my spec b but i am short a few things i need to make some number. I have stock mid pipe and stock intercooler neither of which work well with the stock intercooler. Current plan is to get my new boost controller next week along with mid pipe and new intercooler. Once i do this i can turn up the wick on this thing.

This turbo is a billet ball bearing 20g turbo with our new billet 11 blade extended tip wheel. These are made for me in japan by a large OE manufacture to our specifications. The turbo has specially made ceramic ball bearings from Germany which are sent to Japan where we have the turbo machined to accept the bearing pack. The custom billet 11 blade front wheel uses extended tip technology for better air flow and spool. What is very different than most of the other 20G turbos is that we manufacture our own billet wheels, we are not buying a billet version of the stock 20g wheel. We are using a new wheel designs so that spool and air flow are better than most traditional setups. This turbo should out run almost any 20g you can find.

Do you suspect that the IWG setup for this is going to be sufficient? I seem to recall a lot of the DSM side of life only offering EWG options at the 20g level due to problems. Do you have compressor maps, and some information on WG pressures and such?

What fueling were you using on the spec.b that you ran it on? What pressures were you running with that fueling, and how were the IDCs?

I'm surprised that the midpipe was a restriction, it's good for an awful lot more than I'd expect you to be able to push through the stock IC without blowing the end tanks off it.

What data do you have on this new wheel? Who designed the wheel? Who makes the wheels? Do you have compressor maps?

The turbo is manufactured for me, so i make the turbo. The wheel is very similar to some of the new garret GTX line. I am working on getting the compressor map and i will take one appart this weekend i hope and get detail pics with a mic on the front and back wheel. The motor will not hold up to this thing turned up all the way. i think i will be ok with this thing setup for internal waste gate but if i where to build a motor and run it turned up it would likly need external gate. The pro's of external gates are well documented and right now i am trying to do the bare minimum to show what can do in a basic form.

Baller, just in case you're not picking up what people are putting down here...

Potential customers are going to need a little more info and background if you're going to expect them to trust their ~$5000 engine to a brand new turbo with 0 miles logged on a vehicle (other than your own).

For me personally, even if you divulged all of the OEM info, it wouldn't be enough. Another vendor, with a great reputation & the respect of most of the members here, came out with a billet 18g that flopped. Early adopters are taking a risk, even when the vendor is known and trusted.

Good luck, maybe in 2-3 years we'll all be buying BBBBTs.

Wow. That's really cool! You make the turbo? That must be why none of NSFW's points have been addressed about the specifications not lining up with the 20G name. You also must have a ton of them lying around if you put up the cash to have them tooled! We see that Olympic MotorSports is also carrying these same turbos, should one of us contact them for more info?

Billet 53/72 ett comp wheel and 49/53 inc turbine wheel...

I am not making any one to buy it so dont buy it. It is a great turbo when i get some real dyno numbers and more testing it will prove its self. If no one here buys it i do loose out but life will go on. It is not vapor ware and i am not trying to scam any one here. Sorry my name bothers people, i will have to change that because it will be impossible to do business with this much name hate mail.
