Our flywheel is identical to the single mass WRX. Swapped mine for one that had been resurfaced...

I just finished my install of the above product on my car. Here's a guide for those who are going to be buying this product in the future. The whole installation process took me about 45 minutes by myself.

1. Empty out your trunk area.

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x51/redstriker09/Car%20mods/IMG_20111230_170931.jpg

2. Take out the trunk sides and lower the rear seats. Use a car interior tool to help you remove the clips that hold the trunk sides. There are 6 clips total per side. There are 2 near the rear seat; 2 towards the back of the wheel well; 1 holding it in on the bottom where the trunk closes; and 1 hook that is actually a clip (to take this out, twist the hook 90 degrees towards the middle of the car and pull it out.) This is the hardest part due to how stubborn those clips can be.

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x51/redstriker09/Car%20mods/IMG_20111230_172747.jpg

3. Take a 14mm socket and take of the nut that is shown in the picture. There are two per side.

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x51/redstriker09/Car%20mods/IMG_20111230_173504.jpg

4. Put the Rear Strut Brace on as it directed and put it over the bolts. Screw the nuts back on with the 14mm socket wrench and go in a X pattern. Torque it until you can barely move it.

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x51/redstriker09/Car%20mods/IMG_20111230_174534.jpg

5. Put the sides of the trunk back in place. There will be a hump created due to the strut brace. (Optional - you can cut the side wall that is next to the brace to make it fit. I did it as seen in the picture below.)

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x51/redstriker09/Car%20mods/IMG_20111230_175531.jpg

6. Then put the rear seats up and make sure everything is fitting to your liking.

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x51/redstriker09/Car%20mods/IMG_20111230_180303.jpg

7. This is what the trunk will look like with everything put back in with this mod. As you can most likely notice, you can see the hump that the brace creates.

And that is the installation of this product. I will see how it changes the handling when I drive it tomorrow.

Nice. Interested in driving impressions.

I drove it around today for a bit. So far, my impression is that it definitely did something. It is better in the turns and the rear doesn't sway at all. I just point it the direction of the turn, and the rear follows it perfectly. Better cornering improvement. I'm going to drive more tonight and see if anything else has changed.

Well I finally Plasta-dip my car. Here is a small guide of how I did it. The whole process took about 4 hours including the 30 minute waiting time between coats.

1. Line the chrome around the windows with painters tape and paper and get as close as you can get it. If you want it to look good, take your time with fitting the tape. Do the same for the front grill and take your time to get a better looking finish.

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x51/redstriker09/Car%20mods/IMG_20111231_124956.jpg

2. Apply Plasta-dip onto the chrome surface and do it evenly. Wait 30 minutes for it to dry before applying the next coat. I put on 3 coats on all the chrome; you may or may not want to put 1 or 2 more coats.

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x51/redstriker09/Car%20mods/IMG_20111231_122602.jpg

3. After waiting for the final coat to dry, take off the paper and tape. Have a knife with you to keep the Plasta-dip from being torn off when pulling the tape. Do it slowly or else you might tear off a small patch and will need to repaint that area again. This is what it should look like after everything is removed and finished.

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x51/redstriker09/Car%20mods/IMG_20111231_153208.jpg

Remember, patience and time are what will give you an excellent looking finish on the Plasta-dip that you will apply.

Here is a guide for the installation of the GTSPEC Rear Sway Reinforcement Brace. This will take about 1-2 hours depending on the difficulty of the bolts and the beam that it is connected to.

1. You will need a 17mm socket wrench, 17mm wrench, 12mm socket wrench, 12mm wrench, PB Blaster or WD-40.

2. Jack the car up and put it on stands so that you can have easy access to the rear sway bar. Once underneath, you will see the designated bolts and nuts that you will have to take off as seen in the picture below. Too loosen the bolts and nuts spray some WD-40 on each end and let is soak for a minute. The pics below will show where the brace will be installed.

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x51/redstriker09/Car%20mods/IMG_20120101_130443.jpg

3. Use the 17mm to take off the nut as in the picture below. Note: If you want to replace the stock bolt with the new bolt that comes with the braces, you will need a jack to keep it in place! I learned this the hard way. I ended up keeping the stock bolt on during the installation due to not much difference besides about 1~2cm in length. This is the problem that I ran into yesterday on my first attempt of installing the product.

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x51/redstriker09/Car%20mods/IMG_20120101_131019.jpg

4. Take the brace, and put it on the bolt, then tighten it down with the washer and the nut to the point that it is still loose enough to swing around, but not fall off.

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x51/redstriker09/Car%20mods/IMG_20120101_131708.jpg

5. Take the 12mm socket wrench and unscrew the bolt that is in the picture below. Note: There will be a object that will look like a nut to take off, but it is welded on to the piece so do not worry about it.

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x51/redstriker09/Car%20mods/IMG_20120101_131914.jpg

6. Take the new short bolt and screw it in with the brace. Once screwed in, put the nut that comes for that screw on the back and tighten it down as much as possible. Note: Tighten this section of the brace first before your tighten the other side, or you will not be able to fit your socket in.

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x51/redstriker09/Car%20mods/IMG_20120101_132537.jpg

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x51/redstriker09/Car%20mods/IMG_20120101_133607.jpg

7. Make sure everything is tight and solid. And then repeat on the other side of the car.

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x51/redstriker09/Car%20mods/IMG_20120101_133205.jpg

Below is the final outcome after everything is finished.

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x51/redstriker09/Car%20mods/IMG_20120101_135508.jpg

I will take my car out for driving impressions once I can go put some gas in it. Hopefully tonight I can do that.

I drove my car to a friends house last night for New Years. And I confirm my statement above. It definitely firms up the rear. Now the rear willing follows the front with a lot less roll than before. Cornering has improved a lot. I would recommend this modification and product.

Very nice write up on the plastic-dip. I'll be trying it in the spring. Did you have any overspray on the grill/onto radiator

I did plastidip on both my grill and the trim around the windows. I took the grill off but taped off the windows.

I wish I had taken the trim around the windows off, I know I would be happier with the results as you can't really get the plastidip under the rubber seals in some areas with them still attached.

I just bought the CNT Catless Downpipe off of wrxwhit. It will be awhile before I install it though; I'm currently concentrating on suspension upgrades at the moment.

Sweet! I don't think I would have the self restraint to hold off on the install.

I'm using my own philosophy to make sure I can make it handle better before I add power.

"What is the point of having power if it is not able to handle it? Make sure it handle the power in any circumstance."
