BRZ video

Power to weight is just one factor you have to count on when determining the performance of the car. Suspension, weight distribution, aerodynamics are other. If you can go through a curve 5% faster than the rest of the field then you have a huge advantage at the track.

Hmmm, the one I test drove was like 45 grand... but I think that was the 40th anniversary edition or something. I'd be curious to know how the features lists compare...

I didn't look really detailed into it. I would assume the feature list is roughly the same. Maybe the BRZ will come better equipped; since it is $27,000 for the top end version and about $30,000 out the door. While 370Z cost $31,000 for the cheapest model and $39,000 (I believe) for the fully loaded.

Front looks awesome! The back looks pretty F'ed up though. The STI concept looks much better than the production version.

+1

While I prefer the Toyota front end over the Subaru, I do think they missed the mark on rear altogether. The Sti concept had the right idea, particularly in the tail light department.

Especially with the angled line on the trunk lid. It does look good.

Shame it's going to be slow.

370Z is pretty similar to it and is much faster. Cannot really comment on the handling front, since I have yet to drive BRZ.

BRZ starts at $24k http://wot.motortrend.com/2013-subaru-brz-price-starts-at-24000-and-we-have-the-detailed-specs-142245.html

370z cheapest start at $31.5k http://www.nissanusa.com/zcoupe/?dcp=ppn.63023882.&dcc=0.240189300

unless you were talking about the Nismo version, starts at 41k.. then compare with BRZ limited 27k starts

you'r comparing cars $14,000 apart

I have a feeling this BRZ is better for Japan road condition (small, twisted).. not for the US wide open highway, so yea it's slow here

depending on each personal's definition and usage

Looking at the engine compartment makes it seem like the "lies about no turbo fitting" are actually not lies at all. That's engine bay is cramped and the block is pushed far back. A supercharger, however...

But damn those oil changes will be even easier than the EJ with that top-mounted oil filter :D

that one weirdest subaru engine I've seen so far.. top mount oil filter is easy to access, there must be a reason

I like those strut bars design, wondering if it's better than 1 piece strut bar type:)

you drive an outback , get over yourself.

Why would I buy a sports car that's slower than my station wagon? My daily commute isnt an Auto-x course, and I could never justify $24k for a car at I'm only going to auto-x.

Not sure why you have your panties all knotted. The BRZ is going to be slow. It might handle well, and it might only cost $24k, but it'll be slow. That's a simple fact.

I'd rather pick up a used Elise, S2K, or Miata. At least those are easy to make not-slow, and two of them actually have high revving engines. I actually have seat time in a 330whp Elise. THAT is a properly fast car.

If the N/A version is enough to make you damp in the nether regions, that's good for you. I don't see why you feel like you need to personally attack me and my wants in a car. Ease up on the hateraide, kid.

YOUR WAGON CAN DRIFTTTTTTT YO!~

:hide:

btw, some history behind the name 86, driven by Keiichi Tsuchiya. (I'm a diehard fan of this car)

http://www.hpieurope.com/piw.php?lang=en&partNo=17209

http://www.driftingstreet.com/toyota-drift-cars.html

again, Subaru and Toyota brought back the 86 not for track racing. To each their own, if you'r smart enough, you will know which car fits you most (driving style, habit, purposes...). Since nobody is similar with anybody, this thread will never end, unless lock!

I just dislike FUD.

ps- do you have seat time in the brz or frs?

pps- please list all the fast rwd cars that start at 24k. Comparing used to new is apples to oranges, son.

my whole point is that toyo/sub brought out exactly what they said they were going to since day one which is rare nowadays with how watered down most cars end up.
