SpecBamf41
ok, finally getting going some more on this build. I know tons are gonna flame, so dont. As far as i know im the first one to document this on a subaru block. What i have done here is filled the water jackets up with suger, and the rest with devcon liquid aluminum F2. This will help stabilize the sleeves to prevent movement, which prevents head gasket failure. 2.5 hours like that. then 4 hours in the oven at 200 degrees BNR18g on 93oct
jamaha51
Is the sugar supposed to dissolve leaving open water jackets? That would be awesome if it works good.
SpecBamf41
once i cure the deck your right, i wash out the suger. i messed up a bit puting it in the oven. i hit the bolts hanging out the bottom and the deck dropped a bit above the bolts. about a 1/8. shouldnt be a problem though cause i have to drill those out anyway to get access to those bolts for assembly. ill be writing a diy in the next few days. with tips so it works better for the next guy. if i mess it up? owell, the block costed me 50 bucks lol. tips for the next guy. use other random bolt that are shorter, and also. make sure you get suger all the way into the water pump passage. i didnt and the suger shifted more into the passage and the deck fell a bit down above it. i just added a bit more devcon. that part of the block will be about a half inch thick. o well. monkeyposeur
Filling the deck with sugar and drilling out your block makes me nervous. I hope it works. I don't have the balls to do something like this.
SpecBamf41
haha what can it hurt? as long as the devcon dont break down it wont be much different cooling wise from a ej22t MY god, this turbo is similar in spec to the gt35r. rated for around 600 at the crank. holy **** BNR18g on 93oct

eekay
I still have my PP6 sitting around somewhere, too. So, if I can manage to power that up somehow, I can get the current tuned map on there that had a TD04 and not a Garrett T28... My 9.3 cups EJ22 makes me feel like my **** is 2.8 decimeters!
