SpecBamf41
wait what? someone explain the problem or pros with a phase one or two? what do i have? i have hydraulic valve lash and the thrust bearing is not in the center i think... the rods dont have the angled ends... and i have a size 10 oil pump that i think is not stock. SpecBamf41
i read i could run a phase 2 crank in a phase block. this is good. phase one block is better and phase 2 crank can run sti rods. im going to have to mill the block for a #5 thrust BNR18g on 93oct

Jab83
change the crank out in the EJ25D block so you could use STi rods (since STi rods have larger crank journals then EJ25D rods and won't work with stock 25D crank Okay, Ill try to explain better. In 1999, the Forester, and the Impreza 2.5 RS got the full Phase 2 EJ25, the one with a phase 2 block (thrust bearing at #5, and 52mm rod journals), 10mm oil pump, and the SOHC heads. Everyone know that, nothing special here, lol. I found all this in this thread http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1888017&page=
SpecBamf41
ok this sounds wierd but i had a 10mm pump and iirc the thrust bearing was not in the middle. it is the closer to the front the block? btw. this block in my 96 had a different engin put in. so maybe i have a phase 2 block with hydrlic heads? that would rock.. hell ill measure the rod i have sitting here on the desk. edit.. the rod here measures 51 without bearings.. so i guess not BNR18g on 93oct
