We used the mcmaster-carr tubing on our last install. So far no complains yet.

I think I may have solved my problem:

Have you installed any type of RSB bracket? I had creaking/squeaking going over bumps slowly and going up my driveway after I installed brackets.

I did a lot of searching and trouble shooting and found it to be the rubber mounts on the rear sub frame assembly.

I've circled and pointed an arrow to what I am referring to.

Sorry for borrowing your pic Highspeed:

Just take that apart, clean it real good with some WD40, wipe it dry, and put a good amount of Energy Suspension grease on there.

Thats what stopped it for me.

Seems like if dirt and crap get inbetween the rubber bushing and the metal support, it creaks.

Good luck and I hope that helps!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

John, that was it!!! That's what was causing the creaking sound!

I got the noise down significantly just by hitting it with some silicone spray from the outside.

Awesome find! First time in years that I was able to back out my driveway without that creak-creak!!

Thank you!

BTW, how difficult was it to remove that rear support arm to get to that bushing? Do you need to put the vehicle up on jack stands?

I hit my rear subframe mounts with some Kroil a few times the past week and the creaking is now 99% gone. I still have to remove them completely to clean and grease them up properly, but even then I don't hear anything when I have my music playing; I had to blast my music before.

Anyway, before you shell out some money for a different set of springs, try this out first. Good luck!

I do have an RSB bracket on those. My noise has not come back, but I'll give it a try if it does. It's odd though that greasing the springs takes the noise away if it is the bracket/bushing contact point causing the noise. I've noticed that placing my hand on the spring lets me feel the creak. Try that out in the middle of the spring and on that bushing before you take it apart. I would myself, but it is doing it now. Just curious.

Just in case there both lubed and wrapped. Taking off the bcs coilovers, soon for sale. I hoping for no noises. These have the clear spring insulation. The newer ones are black. If this doesnt work gonna spray em with rubberized wheel well spray.

So I finally installed my Konis/Epics two weeks ago, and the rears have been squeaking non-stop ever since. I even thought that maybe I didn't tighten something, so I went back and checked everything, all is up to spec. I'm just wondering, could it be the saggy butt shims? Has anybody had this issue without them? Thanks!

IIRC it's the coils of the spring rubbing against each other. I think the guys over at AZP found a solution.

Yup we have been using the tubing from Grainger and it has stopped the squeaking.

I searched, am I supposed to read too? :-)

Seriously though, you either grease them or wrap them, but either one is a workaround, not a true fix. There are people who didn't have to do any of this, are you saying they are all deaf? Didn't Epic test these springs before selling them? I'm just trying to see if there's something common among the people who are having the problem.

I had the exact same issue with my Ralliteks, no noise until I installed my Konis on the rear. I finally used the wire loom idea and no more squeaking. It has been about a month so far, so good.

As a side note, I also installed the wire loom on the front springs to fix some rattling noise I had since install no matter the front struts (OEM or Koni).

Any long term updates? Has the simple plastic tube solved it once and for all?

We have done the fix using the sleeve material from grainger on several customer cars and have not had any complaints so far.

Perfect. My springs showed up yesterday and while my Koni's are on back order for another week or so, they will be here soon enough. I'll be calling on you guys shortly to get it all said and done.

Any updates on this? Mike do you know what make/model of sleeve material you are buying at Grainger? I have a feeling if I go to my local store they are going to give me 100 different options :)

Sorry it's McMaster-Carr. Item# 5236K482

Found something on some Lexus forum that might be a good alternative to the hose: Tein Silencing Rubbers

They are basically the same thing as what comes on the spring. If you put one on every over coil, it will prevent metal-metal contact while taking up half the space. Medium (90-130mm) is the correct size for our application.

Ordered three pairs, but you could probably get away with two. Will report back on how this does once they are on the car.

I just did a search on this the other day because my Epic/Koni setup is making the chirpy sound thanks for the info

And they are split, does that mean you can put them on without removing spring

or does the spring have to come off?

In theory you should be abel to. Putting them on off the car was extreamly easy, they just snap around the coil from the outside. There is a light glue inside that holds them once in place.

That said, the place where then end of the spring impacts the next coil looks like a likley noise spot (see pic). Getting it on that last coil would be tricky.
