AlWheelDrive
A flip key would be awesome! My buddy loves my car but told me if he owned the car the clunky all in one would bother him lol
underdog1425
Added my vote, just traded in my vdub bunny for my leggy and I have the teardrop key, would totally love to have it all back in one package like the vdub key. ....and it is pretty fun to pull out your key and flip it at people and declare "en garde!" also subbed
spongejosh
I just found this thread and voted yes. I'd like to see an out the front switchblade type key for the teardrop FOB. Black anodized or "natural" aluminum would both be good. No need for engravings on it for me.
Capn Crunch
Voted yes...I love the flip key better than the teardrop jabbing my leg in my pocket. Just waiting to hear when they'll be available:spin:
flyer27
Just found the thead. is this still happening/are they available? used to have a VW and would love to have the flip key back - it's the only thing I miss about that car (these gas prices are making me miss the TDI milage too though)
BAC5.2
Still on radar, but other things have precedence... like graduation and jobs I get paid for. flyer27
understandable - my thesis and grad school will both be done in May, but until then they both dominate my time... hope all goes well for you BAC!
atchipmunk
Interesting idea. I'd definitely be interested....depending on the price of course. Hate the teardrop remote and long key that came with my '05 LGT Wagon. wishi it could b a little more compact and streamlined...
LegacyGTBiggie
as a FYI. Something I found searching for a replacement to my cavalier keys. https://www.ikeyless.com/vehicles/Subaru/Legacy/2005/1001411/
BAC5.2
I've see the ikeyless, but I'm concerned with security. I don't like the idea of defeating the immobilizer, but I love the smart key concept. LegacyGTBiggie
wait you have to do what to use them? I put a request in to ask about the caddie keys. So tired of starting a corvette powered cadillac with the same keys a cobalt owner uses.
DocHolladay23
That legacy key you linked is the exact same thing as the ebay flip keys that are $30 FYI, just in case you end up getting one. Don't want you wasting money if it can be found cheaper! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] You want stickers? Hit me up here!!! You want a shirt? Hit me up here!!! BAC5.2
Ah, then that isnt what I thought it was. I thought it was one of those Smart Key kits. NateH
I am quite interested in getting one of these. Hopefully the price is right. I wouldn't mind paying $
BAC5.2
This is still side lined. After the large initial quote I received, I am not entirely inclined to move forward. I'll revisit it after I finish up my Thesis and get the next few hectic months sorted out. I might make a key of my own by hand, but I won't personally be able to mass produce them. Brock Samson
How much is a full, new key from the stealer? I don't think $100 to 120 is outrageous for such a nice, custom piece of work. I'm still interested enough personally and entrepreneurially to get involved with helping make these.
carnutsx2
Tghanks. really I need one for a cadillac. And I cant find one... Not good enough to make my own like some people ^^^^ Wont a 08-09 vette key work?
LegacyGTBiggie
That uses keyless ignotion right? Mine is still a normal key. And the most basic shitty key GM could use too.

AkumaMax
any luck sourcing a new vendor to manufacture these? Ummm not to rain on anyone's parade but there has been a solution made to this interest. I have about 3 flip keys OEM look/feel that work with no problems. They fit my 09 FOB inside and then you place your Transponder chip in it and get the key cut. Very very simple. total cost was around $
