I think in 99 you can use the DOHC heads from the EJ25D or EJ251?

Have to do some research of your own but if you could those would be your options. EJ251 is a SOHC motor (RS2.5 Motor) and EJ25D is GT/Outback motor and 98 RS 2.5 Motor

So I have officially givin up on my phase 2 block.

I honed the shit out of it and it wouldnt get a 'lump' out.

I have a phase 1 22e.

Thrust is in #3 instead of #5 :(

1)What else is different?

2)Will I have problems with my gasket set for a 99?

3)Can I use my Phase 2 heads?

pre heat your oven to about 300 degrees. put a wet towel or a piece of wood on the rack, and bake the headlight housing for a few minutes. this will soften the weather seal / glue they use to hold the lense on. You will be able to peel it off after the glue is soft.

Thats how you get inside the housing to remove the reflector...or even paint the inside if you want to. The reasoning behind the towel / wood is so the metal doesn't burn the plastic housing.

This little bastard got tapped and I cant get the bolt to stay in.

What can I do?

Could I cut a line in the middle of the bolt about half an inch and put something in it so it is slightly wider?

Find a bigger bolt that will fit. Who tapped it? Ask them what tap they used. Looks like probably m12x1.25 or something close.

Take the bolt that is suppose to fit to a hardware store and buy all the thread sizes for the bolt, the 1.25 part, then step up to the next size, the m12 parts, and buy all the threads for it.
