My company makes a few; the 2690 is my favorite.

Not the most comfortable, maybe, but it sure is bright - good for outdoors stuff.

Seek first to understand, then to be understood.

In other words: SEARCH before you post!

Piggybacking on your thread fish, mine was a dud. i'm looking for a "nightstick" style LED light that i can hang under the hood or crawl under the car with. I'd like to be able to plug it in to charge then unplug it for use. It definitely needs to be able to take a beating too. The brand doesn't matter as long as its BRIGHT. Does anybody know a good one?

Amazon has the TerraLUX Lightstar-220 on sale for $24.94. They say it usually goes for $50. Not a bad price for a 220 lumen flashlight

LE: I got my hands on a Pelican 1920 and I gotta say it's a great flashlight

Looking for a good priced flashlight that reaches at least at 200 meters. Any recommendations? I got the Fenix LD40 on the list.

If you can wait for the slow boat, the el-cheapo DealExtreme Cree drop-ins for the Surefire G-series body (to keep costs down; alternatively, buying a used P-series on-the-cheap is also quite possible) are really impressive, for the money.

There's some artifact and the color isn't as great, but it easily out-throws my Z2S-LED.

Even so, I don't think it'll reach 200 meters+....and for that matter, I honestly have doubts that the LD40 will, either. I think you'd be better off with the TK41 (and similar large-reflector throw-specialists), but I don't know if that's what you would consider "good priced."

Have a look, here:

Using the SureFire E2D-LED as a known-reference (since this is the one that most people are likely to be familiar with, given that the KX2C head appears both on the handheld E2D-LED as well as on their Scout-series weaponlights), you can see how that light's beam-shot at 100 meters is very similar to the LD40 at that distance....and both of those out-throw the DealExtreme el-cheapo that I cite above.

Honestly, if you want something with that much throw, you're probably better off playing with something like the end-user customizable Dereelight, or going with a specialty item like the LED Lenser.

So my Streamlight PT1AA died last week and I ended up replacing it with a Maratac AAA Rev 2. High is 115 lumen @ 65 minutes, Low is 1.5 lumen @ 50 hrs on a standard AAA. My friend has been running lithium AAAs and it runs much longer. I plan on picked up 2 delrin battery lockers to hold an extras: one in my car, and the other in my field pack.

I did sumble upon the Thrunite TI, it's a AAA keychain flashlight starting a 3 lumen going up 60 lumen just by tightening it.

My Streamlight Stinger C4 LED lasted about 2 years and finally crapped out on me.. took some abuse at my work (tech for Mercedes). Good thing for the lifetime warranty :) Dropped it off at a certified streamlight repair center and got it repaired for free in 3 days :)

Where do you work at? Seeing North NJ, I would guess something like Ray Catena.
