I can't go. Tried trading with 2 other guys and just can't get it to work. I know I would do much better than before and hate to end the season not having a chance to see where I'm at. I am off the following final Weds, but that is a terrible day to go... last time I went on the final day I only got 1 run in all night... undecided if I want to sit around all night for 1 run.

Don't beat yourself up over the launch. Run hard even if you bork the launch. Your e.t. will suffer but your trap speed won't be off by more than 1mph.

 

Try my launch technique. I really don't try to get 1.7's but I'm always better than 2.0. 42psi in the rears, 38psi in the fronts. Hold rpms around 4600-4800rpms and slip the clutch... as soon as all the tires are spinning let it out fully. I'm usually ~1.90 or so. Good enough.

 

I'm not willing to beat on my tranny to get 1.7's and feel this technique (SLIPPING the clutch and SPINNING the tires) is not very abusive and I'm just putting wear on parts that are meant to wear out.

 

P.S. - I used to blip the throttle 4500-5000rpms... I don't like doing that any more... I don't think it builds boost and makes for inconsistent launches.

The car was pretty consistant two 13.8's and two 13.7's.

The car ran okay. It seemed as there was a flat spot in 3rd gear. Boost would just take a dip and then return towards the end of 3rd. I am still in the testing phases with this tune so we might need to make some changes.

 

 

I am looking forward to see how the Legacy's performed. I had to leave a bit early.

Well, I got 3 servings of humble pie tonight, I took pics of my first two slips, my third and final run of the night was full of fail.

 

It was great seeing many of you guys out there tonight, I can't believe I waiting this long to attend one of these events. I'll definitely be back to practice my launching / driving.

Well it was def good to get out there one more time. Collegemt I did get to see your first run thats pretty impressive in my book thats haulin ass, it would be cool if I could get consistent to run against ya just from lookin at your times it might be close. Finse that sucks about your night I didnt get a chance to introduce myself but I did talk with Dave(cryo) about your setup and all, that 14.1 run doesnt look to bad that 60' is the only thing that really stood out to me. As for myself just two runs not consistent but 13.7 twice now. I have video but I cant figure out how to send it maybe tomorrow.

 

Oh and I did get to see you run once hack4875 but didnt catch the time. By the way thats a slick setup you got goin on im definitely jealous.

Well I have to say I suck at driving but semi accomplished what I wanted anyway. Got three runs in, each run was better than the last but I definatly had some issues.

 

First run against a new gen mustang who ran 14.8. miss third twice, shift into 4th and lose boost and power? turns out I blew the wg hose at the blue T.

I am having a rich dip on launch because of the FMIC and didnt really tune for it since I have never launched it except at the track. I never left the line with boost so now I will fix it. I am pretty happy with the traps and the ET's dont really mean much to me although I would have liked to see a 2.0 sixty foot but I'd rather have a clutch for the winter I suppose.

 

I think I will be able to make some more power once I get it on the dyno, just figure might as well be safe. It felt like it had more in it tonight as well, I really would have liked to make one or two more runs but it was PACKED.

Man, there were some clean LGTs out tonight! 135 looked good too, Adam.

 

Just watched this evening. Makes me want to go at least IIe sooner than later, but that's dreaming at this juncture.

 

I was glad to see some of the power through trap speeds you guys were laying down.

 

Anyone notice the 12.7 (did it do better?) SRT8 Grand Cherokee? The Hondas and Evos were representin' too! Seriously, that silver Evo is sick. I think I saw at least a 9.8. I know it sucks for you guys racing, but the car show as a spectator is worth the price of admission on these nice nights at the end of the year.

 

FI Silverado SS went 13.1 (is it actually turbocharged?). Rather stock seeming went GTR 12.5 @ 117 ish. Can't recall the 1st gen Viper numbers. Don't get me started with those quick diesels. Good lord those are moving quick.

I had a good time last night. Even though I was slapped in the face by me/my car telling me I can't drive. Although this was my first time to a drag strip and I've never raced like this before. Plus the car is new to me so I'm still getting used to the upgraded clutch.

 

My slips are at home, but they are all horrible. Main part, I had fun and I got to meet a couple of you (rweezy and finse). Great meeting you guys.

yeps, that was me. I waited around for a bit by my truck when I was parked by you, but never saw anyone by your car. Then checked back a few times. Oh well.

 

Next week, ill be in my 05 Black LGT Wagon - debadged and tinted. I'll park up in the same place as last night.

 

For anyone else that plans on going - We have been parking up on the west side of the track - past the concessions stand - about 6-7 rows up. Look for a couple of LGT wagons.
