2011 STI pillow ball LCA bushing fits the Legacy?

That appears to be the case, although he didn't have the new arm to compare. but if you look at the photos you can see that the new arm is wider where the new ball joint bushing is:

Hmm, they still look the same. If they are different, I wonder if the whole 2011 arm will swap over then?

Sorry, I must be missing something...after seeing how long the OEM stuff last, why would you buy them again.

The aftermarket has seen the junk the OEM's have made and has much better replacements offered.

Example, Last evening I installed a Moog right outer tie rod end on my sons 2001 Acura Interga. The Moog part was much beefier then the OEM Acura part.

305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD).  CHECK your oil, these cars use it.

You aren't buying an OEM replacement. You are buying an OEM part. The new part is, likely, much better than the standard and looks to be a better option than aftermarket rear LCA bushings.

All current options, both aftermarket and OEM, rely on deflection of a bushing medium to handle changes in suspension movement. This, however, simply rotates a ball-in-cup. The rubber bushing bits are only there to help isolate the chassis from vibration.

the STi has a wider track which I'm guessing means wider control arms. but the 2011 wrx owners could probably use them.

I'm ordering the "front" LCA bushings from an STi as well. Based on the comments from ifbiker in this thread they appear to be stiffer than ours.

I'm taking the car in for Konis and new LCA bushings soon because the "tennis ball" looks like a pit bull has been chewing on it. Seeing the diagram and the "front" LCA bushing, I have to ask how much wear do these things get? They look like they only move much like a door hinge and don't get any substantial amount of stress. I never heard of anyone replacing them before. That being said, if the LCA is coming off the car anyway, how much extra would it cost to change the "fronts" out?

The "front" bushing is #7 in the diagram. The part number I have for the STi bushing is 20204AG040 and I think they are around $17 each from Fred Beans. For me, it is worth replacing them while the arm is off the car.

ymmv...

So can anyone confirm if the ball-joint style rear LCA bushings will swap?

Any chance these would fit the 2010 LGT??

Rgds,

DT

doubtful, seeing as the front suspension is redesigned. besides, to change them would be a whole nightmare unless you have a dealership do it, and you'll pay out the ass for labor.

I'm ordering these. they'll fit.

So, why is one parts dealer saying they don't fit, and than a subaru mechanic saying they will?

Trying to decide what to do. I'm thinking of getting the aluminum control arms. Just wondering if it would better just to get the complete control arm if it fits at that.

let's just do this: one of our salesman ordered a pair of the bushings, and are due in monday or tuesday. I'll see if he'll let me attempt to install them. then I can make a report as to they are 100% compatible or not. if they fit then i'll get some for me. :D

OT: Will 08-10 STi (I take it 2011 is different) lca fit LGT/Spec.b?

Want to make the job of replacing front/rear LCA bushings with Whiteline a little easier, and it seems that it's easier to score a set of used STI lca's.
