I highly recommend you build a box around the cone and rear end of the snorkel. Your design will be MUCH more efficient that way.

Yea I actually found this at the junkyard Monday and got it for 10$. It's supposed to come with the heat shield but that was Mia. But soon I'll go get some foam and sheet metal and get to work

Good plan! What are you lowered on by the way? :)

To answer it question I have Kyb gr2 in the front with H&R springs and stocks struts in the back with H&R springs. 1.5"drop in front with 1.3"in the rear. 17" wheels wrapped with 205/45 7" wide rim.

Sweet!

Looks like we both have good taste because the following products are in my room waiting for me to install next week:

Any reason why you're running OEM shocks in the rear?

Lol I was just on ur page looking at what u got lol I was gonna post it but realized I already answered ur question on here.

The reason is I got the car with the kybs in the front as a replacement upgrade when I bought the car. Eventually I'll get the backs when they blow out lol.

Nice! That's justifiable reasoning. I was wondering if it was on purpose for drivability reasons or something.

Again it's only .2" difference in the back hardly noticeable

hmm. True. The difference in front weight between the manual and auto is only around 60lbs. So if I have less rake when I install it, it may be barely noticable.

However, I have the rear spoiler, which adds a whopping 5lbs to the rear, so maybe I'll be somewhat level :hide:

Rake is better for performance, I just don't like the look for some reason.

Lmao 5lbs pssssh that's like a gram on the rear shocks lol. I have a 2.5T floor jack, stock axle back muffler, spare tire, hell of a bunch of tool and misc. stuff I don't need at all. So I'd say I'm close to about 300lbs in the trunk alone and my rear still hasn't dropped lol it's a very stiff setup and its awesome. Combo it with a rear sway bar and it'll be epic around corners. (My next project lol) also if possible beef up the rear stabilizer bar under the car.

Yeah, I compared my front and rear springs the other day, pressing on them, and the rears seemed far more stiff than the fronts. I've been keeping my eye out on the black market for a used Whiteline rear sway for the past few weeks. Many people say to get both the front and rear, but the car should handle faster around corners with just the rear I would think because adding a front sway increases understeer (although creating faster turn-in response). I have not looked into upgrading stabilizer bars on these cars (just got my BE around 2 months ago). Do you think upgrading it would make noticeable differences?

On another forum my friend got the front and rear sway bar whitelines and we took it for a spin with the rears first. It def took away any kind of understeer at hi speed turns. She (the BE) hugged them corners like it was her job lol. A few days later he installed the fronts an said some understeer has returned but I wasn't there so I'm not too sure. He says its not like it came back to stock but it was a very small understeer.

If yout want to reduce your BE understeer, run a slight rake and a thick rear sway with the factory front.

For example.. I currently have a .5" rake and a 21mm rsb and my car is a blast to drive.. no annoying have to lift off steering.

Exactly what I believe.

Run negative camber in the front. Get WRX control arms for a cheap, 20mm wider front track, run even thicker front swaybar (yes it WILL help).

There's no correlation between rake and understeer/oversteer - the lowered front end usually means needing a higher spring rate - the spring rate is what will give you the handling difference.

I am the person Grimm was talking about with the whitelines in both the front and rear. The rear was a massive improvement. I highly recommend that. The front was not as much. I like the increased steering response, but the return of the under steer I am not so keen on. At least it is not as bad as it was stock..

Higher rear end will transfer weight differently Than a vehicle with a level ride height. It takes less with the rear end raked to get it to come around. I should have mentioned I have the dampening on my fronts maxxed out and the rear at 2/3.
