m sprank
Is our whole stock exhaust 2.5"? 2.5" to the "Y" section.
Boostin1657615274
Somebody skip out on work and install this thing today. On the search for a new DD...
m sprank
Can't. Got a 9am meeting. But... It should last till lunch. As long as I don't get stuck buying, I am out of there and home to "test fit". Fack having the extra flange. I shot Jeremy a PM and asked him to ship me one ASAP (there only $35 list). I can fit the pipe without it though, make sure it clears everything and lines up. You can tell without the extra flange if the DP to CBE flanges are aligning up right. Its in the interest of everyone here that I get a write up done. This thing is a straight Invidia knock off at half the price. Could be the cheapest "legit" downpipe on the market if it fits good. Updates with more pics to follow. Do you think I should start a whole separate write up thread?
Boostin1657615274
I am not sure sure if a full write up thread is necessary...my biggest concerns are: -Does the cat touch the firewall (which I hear is the fitment difference between 08 WRX's and LGT's)?-Does the flange sit flush to the catback? m sprank
On my way home to test fit. My 5eat is stage 2.5 already. My cobb dp is on that car. Mt and 5eat dp are different dp fitment. Pipe is for my specb. Sorry I wasn't clear. Got to go. Hard to type on my crackberry and drive.
tjbev21
lol its all good man... thanks for the clarification.. i cant wait!!! =)
m sprank
The wait is over... The verdict is in... The survey says... The envelope please... Drum roll please... Get your friggin credit cards out, time to take on some more debt (although much less than any other reputable brand) and start modding! The pictures speak for themselves. The new ERZ Catted 08 "WRX" Downpipe fits the 08 Spec B... Like a Glove. First three pics=OEM and ERZ downpipes side by side. pic 4=ERZ cast bell mouth to turbo connection. Note: I put back in the heat shield bracket. I still need to trim the stock heat shield and it will go back on. pic 5=Firewall clearance. Probably more than there was with the OEM DP. pic 6-8=DP to CBE flange connection. No adapter yet, just used the included gasket and hardware. Nice and flush. pic 9=O2 sensor installed. m sprank
More pics... pic 10=Tranny mount tab. pic 11-12=Firewall clearance from underneath. pic 13-14=Drive shaft clearance. pic 15-17=Downpipe under the car. pic 18=Driveshaft clearance from the top view. I hope this helps everyone. I still need to download Mickeyd's 08 SpecB tune from ROMRAIDER. Then I need to adjust the tables for my crappy pisswater CA 91 gas. Waiting for the FMIC and stage 3 upgrade to get a road tune with Infamous1. I highly recommend getting a tune with any upgrade like this!!! Just for GP. I in no way work for or am affiliated with ERZ in any way. Until about two weeks ago I had never heard of them. I saw this thread and went for it. Thanks. -Mike

m sprank
WOOOOOOOOO thank the good lord =) and you too m sprank Fixed, lol. Make all the fun you want. I was uncreative with my name when I picked my first email account in the days of dial up and AOL. It is my first initial and the first 6 letters of my last name. It is kinda of inviting for jokes, but it has stuck so I go with it. No worse than the names on the playground as a kid. Maybe someday I will pick a "cool" online name. Enjoy the pics. For anyone wondering about fit you have your answers. Going out to put my IC back on and flash my ROM. Then I need to log and adjust some tables (I am sure). Going to be a long night now. Ahh, the fun of modding.
tjbev21
Lol I like mr spank better.. But your choice lolgood to see a legit downpipe for a reasonable price. Do you think I should header wrap it or leave it be?
m sprank
I am not sure its worth wrapping. I am sure there are others who would disagree. It is probably better, theoretically. But, how much better (for the purpose of my car) is debatable. I don't race, and my car is not a race built machine. IMHO people make too much of what race mechanics are doing. Then they try to apply the same techniques to the street without the benefit of testing. But that's my opinion, much like a-holes we all have them. Good Luck to everyone. I was able to cut my stock heatshield (just like my Cobb) and reinstall. Just flashed. Got to go log. -Mike

Boostin1657615274
Great news and thank you for these updates, it was a great contribution to LGT. My questions have been sufficiently answered. Time to break out the CC. Can someone PM with this coupon code? On the search for a new DD...
m sprank
CBE is an SPT. I used 2 flat gaskets to make the connection from the 3" DP to the 2.5" CBE. No leaks. will get the flange soon and make it "right". Drive impressions. Sound is good. No audible difference than my Cobb. Does NOT sound "tinny". I am on my second rev of my tune already. Just smoothing out the 1 knock event I had at 4200-4800RPM. If anyone needs the tune I will post it once I am finished. I am using CAN91 gas. The base for the map was the Mickeyd tune done for the 08 SpecB (93oct). It was his 8th rev so I know the base is good. Ahhh... stage 2 is so much more fun than stage 1. Can't wait for stage 3 now! m sprank
The coupon code is; wrx101 Not sure if it is still good. Jump on it if it is. If not I think ERZ is going to ask $330 plus shipping. Still a great deal for a catted DP (that fits with no modifications). Yeah, sorry no 5EAT love. But ERZ did design the pipe for the WRX. We just got lucky (MT owners). Boostin1657615274
Confirmed: Coupon still works!!!!! Thanks m sprank, you just saved me $80. Also, they had a free shipping option on the website for the downpipe. Definitely jump on this before they disable the coupon!! Price without coupon is $339 shipped. On the search for a new DD...
