Scooby2.5
Dang I love this car! I need a front bumper like this that will go on an outback with a FMIC! http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s108/wujek1976/lgt/2008-11-09_150643_a__3930.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s108/wujek1976/lgt/2008-11-09_150515_a__3926.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s108/wujek1976/lgt/2008-11-09_150549_a__3927.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s108/wujek1976/lgt/2008-11-09_150707_a__3931.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s108/wujek1976/lgt/2008-11-09_151054_a__3936.jpg

06GRPLGT
What are you fellas using for JDM bumper to USDM plate? aka...the holes in my JDM bumper don't match up to my 'Murrican plate, so what's the best converter plate or whatever to make it easy/clean? Underdog
I had a bracket made that goes on the inside of the bumper and uses very low profile head screws to attach, so the plate sits very close to the bumper skin. I could price out having another made if you are interested. The Crimson Dynamo

Been looking for a potential solution to make it more flush. That or I may just have the bumper holes shaved by a body shop before repaint. I've got something similar to what Hanger posted now, but it protrudes from the bumper more than I'd like. My spec.B [#163] Project Thread with Pictures Get CryoTuned! Underdog
Rick, I'd be interested in seeing a picture of this bracket solution you had made. Been looking for a potential solution to make it more flush. That or I may just have the bumper holes shaved by a body shop before repaint. I've got something similar to what Hanger posted now, but it protrudes from the bumper more than I'd like. I designed this bracket to fit the holes that came in my Rev.A-C Spec.B bumper (see below). The bracket is bolted to the inside of the bumper skin using a torx-drive M8 bolt with a ~1/16" tall head and a lock washer and nut. The low profile head allowed me to design in threaded standoffs on the Delrin bracket so the plate would sit just off the bumper skin. Now the plate bolts to the bracket with an M6 version of the same low profile torx-drive bolt, for a clean and somewhat tamper-proof design. This allows me to remove my plate without dropping the bumper, which I need to do to remove the clear plastic plate cover so I can pass inspection each year. .Catalyst.
That's very close to what I was envisioning when I realized what is needed to make the conversion - but couldn't find anything close enough in the retail market. I'm still on the fence. I really like how the JDM 2.0GT bumper looks without the plate blocking off the lower opening now that I have no plate. I pulled it off with the other bracket (similar to what Hanger posted), because it stuck out too far. If it's not a lot of effort to see what one would cost, I'd like to know. If it was relatively inexpensive, I may just get one to see how it looks in person with plate mounted before I commission a body shop to shave the holes completely. Underdog
Does your GT bumper have the same holes as the Spec.B bumper? If so I would consider parting with my spare bracket. Let me just talk to the machine shop and see what they would want for a batch so I can approximate my replacement cost. I also have a bunch of spare low-pro hardware (had to buy min qty.100 from the company in Switzerland). The Crimson Dynamo

The holes are the same between the JDM GT and JDM spec.B bumpers, confirmed with your close up picture. That's one of the few things they actually share! Underdog
Cool. I sent the email to my machine shop, so we'll see what they come back with. Just to be clear, the standoffs that mount the plate stick out through the "D" holes, while the bracket mounts to the bumper skin through the round holes. I designed it to bring the plate as high up out of the lower grille air path as possible, but still sit below the small molded-in lip on the Spec.B bumper. .Catalyst.
Mine's got that molded in lip as well just above the holes - so this should make it nice and flush, and I know that it should lift the plate closer to that little lip than what I currently have. That might just make it acceptable to keep the front plate (which is required here ), without using a tow hook mount.
