itsme
I guess I should have done this along time ago. This is how you install the XO2 racing FMIC. The kit is still the cheapest FMIC out there and from what I have seen in other post it's alot easier the others. I have had my FMIC on for over a year and have done my datalog pulls, tuning runs, and even taken it to the track and have had no problem with it. With my stg2 TBE, FMIC, K&N typhoon intake I have been able to hit 18psi @2800rpms and 277whp on crappy cali 91octane. This kit started in the thread below. XO2 racing saw what I was doing and bought the kit from me. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43950&highlight=diy+fmic Any way he we go. You will need common hand tools(10mm,12mm, screwdriver,etc..). The only thing that you have to trim is the back of the bumper and the bumper skin. Also only use the hose that comes with the kit. Make sure to take off the stock hose on the throttle body. First , you need the remove the bumper beam and and bumper skin. http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/113948.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/114005.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/121222.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/121307.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/121314.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/121323.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/113558.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/113541.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/113454a-1.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/113515a-1.jpg Racer X FMIC for '05-'09 LGTs, '08+ WRX and '10+ LGT,'14+ FXT, and '15+ WRX TMIC Racerxengineering.com
itsme
Now the other side. http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/123000.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/123711.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/123010.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/123703.jpg This is with a K&N intake http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/113650.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/170852.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/190930-1.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/190952.jpg That is a look at the flange I made. I did that so you can use a LGT or WRX turbo. It doen't effect peorformance. itsme
Now the fun part trimming the bumper. I would recomend uses using a saws-all. You have to take off about a 1/2 notch off the back. But you still get the keep the bumper foam for minor impacts. http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/150402.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/150327.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/152433.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/144919-1.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/145539-1.jpg Once you are done with that you made to trim the skin. You cut the sides of where the foglights go. This way if you take out the FMIC you can put back in the stock foglight. http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/150415a-1.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/122513.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/170752.jpg I like my pipes showing but, if you don't you can buy the non turbo foglight cover and put them on. The core mounts straight but I didn't not notice mine was nottill I had put it all back together and I didn't feel like taking everything back off. itsme
I made the kit so you can use a WRX or LGT turbo and not have to buy or really change anything. This is the flange I came up with for LGT turbo. http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/190930-1.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/170903.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/170852.jpg And this is the same setup without the flange on a wrx style 20G turbo.(I just wrapped the pipes and painted them. http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/170852.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/131419.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/131427.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/131437.jpg This is the 20G /EWG setup before I wrapped and painted. http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/131437.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/153428.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u156/itsmebryan/153603.jpg With this setup you only cut the bumper beam. You keep all of the stock part(overflow tank, battery, etc....). hope this helps Racer X FMIC for '05-'09 LGTs, '08+ WRX and '10+ LGT,'14+ FXT, and '15+ WRX TMIC Racerxengineering.com

Guest
That would have been a great fmic if the piping was routed differently so to preserve fogs. Also I think due to the routing on passenger side, it would not clear JDM bumpers.
Spec B
Great, great walk through, I would have never been able to bolt mine up without all the pics itsme provided in his "developement" thread. One word of warning to all those installing, the connection on the turn right before the throttle body is pretty tricky. Mine continued to pop off (the car completetly dies when it does), I finally bought a hump cupler, and I have had not had any problems since Hump coupler: http://www.extremepsi.com/store/customer/product.php?productid=21263&cat=1536&page=1 Makes the trickiest part of the install much easier. Considering the low price of the XO2 kit, I assumed that the silicone hoses were 3 ply. If that's the case, you can get a 3 ply coupler which is much cheaper. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-75-Silicone-Hose-Coupler-Hump-Blue-Turbo-Intercooler_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a15Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem260317832993QQitemZ260317832993QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

05gtlimited300
great write. i have my xo2 kit on the way. how much did you have to cut away from the bumper skin on the bottle. it looks like you only have to take off about an inch?
Spec B
I had to do a fair amount of chopping, there is alot of small cuts. You need to cut, test fit, cut, test fit, cut... I had to do it like 20 times. I was worried about cutting too much at a time. It is not hard, just a pain.. Remember to cut off all the brackets on the piping, they interfere with the install of the bumper.
