Interesting. When I log IAT (which is rare, actually) I usually see it go up a couple degrees during every pull.

But I only had IAT in one pull that day, so I don't have any other recent data for comparison.

But looking at my logs, I think I don't think I'm done with timing, there's room for a couple more degrees at least. I forgot where I left off last time, it's been so long. So I'm going to turn it up a little before I switch to boost.

All the cool kids keep on mocking my incandescents...

Yeah seriously NSFW, you have all that goodies in your car and you don't have an HID setup yet???? Even nearly-stock LegGTLT has HIDs for a while now!

And I'm a sucker for peer pressure, so...

This thread is pretty cool: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/headlight-clearing-w-pics-3737.html?t=3737

And of course: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/rx330-oem-conversion-full-oem-hids-write-up-56028.html?highlight=hid+swap

I'm baking at 225 for 15 minutes, based on something I read elsewhere. One down, one to go. Gonna pop the other one open, and then mess with projectors tomorrow.

Halp. I has a bit of a problem:

Does anyone make a D2S plug that has the wires coming straight out, rather than at a 90-degree angle? I could cut a slot in the bottom of the cap, but it's going to be kind of a pain to get it to seal up, so I'm hoping I can just solder on a more friendly connector.

Also note that the input to the ballast is a 9006 connector - basically a mock 9006 bulb. What are the odds of finding a 9006 plug at a random auto parts place? Good? Bad? It would be nice to just solder one up to the leads that used to connect to the old headlight bulb.

On the bright side (heh) I did manage to make the HID light up. Need to experiment with washers to get a better cutoff tomorrow.

Brilliant idea. (Get it? Brilliant, right? I slay myself....)

The lead coming out the connector presses against the cap a little more tightly than I'd like, but it'll work...

Next step is to cut and resolder to get the wires so they run though the factory grommet. Should end up nice and tidy. Thanks for the suggestion!

A bit late, but here I am...routing through the factory grommet is exactly what I did. I left the factory H7 wires on the outside, though - the only thing that needs to go into the housing is the D2s wire that comes from the ballast. The H7 power wires just go into the ballast...
sorry...this forum practically blows goat nuts so im not always on here.

My ballast has 9006 connectors. :|

I think I'm going to use waterproof bullet connectors to get power in and out of the ballast, unless anyone has other ideas. Or unless other ideas come to me at while I'm in the electrical section at NAPA...

One of my co-workers is more religious than I ever guessed. When I got onto the freeway, on our way out to lunch today, he said "Sweet Jesus." And when I got onto the freeway on the way back to the office he said "Oh my god."

By some strange coincidence, both religious proclamations were uttered just as my car reached about 22psi.

screws = keep it located at 22psi

Actually, I am a little bit concerned about that. It's made of two pieces of 1/8" thick plastic, and it's a nice press fit into the gauge pod, but I'm a little suspicious. There's nothing but friction holding it in there. It's worked well enough for the AFR gauge above it, but that was made by professionals. :)

Also, you've got mail. I could use a hand getting this stuff wired up.
