Pawlwawl06
06' has 5MT and red leather 07'+ = 6MT O really? What makes the Spec B different from the GT besides the 6MT? Why does it need another gear? I know what I want in 4 yrs...
Bbc84
O really? What makes the Spec B different from the GT besides the 6MT? Why does it need another gear? I know what I want in 4 yrs... So spec B owners can call their cars special. 6 sp and 5sp seems to be about the same. I thought I should of got the Spec B for the 6sp so it would have a lower cruising rpm on the highway, but from what I understand the rpm between 6sp LGT and 5sp LGT are within a hundred or so rpms i think? EPA also rates the specB with 2mpg less than the 5mt in city and 1mpg less on highway. Compared to the 5MT LGT's, SpecB's has VDC, Bilsten suspension, different fabric for interior, navigation, 6speed trans, and the plastic specB emblem on the trunk
Underdog
6-speed Spec.b's come with the R180 rear end which has a torsen type limited slip versus the viscous clutch type in the R160 (5MT) drivetrain. '06 Spec.b was 5MT. Fact. The Crimson Dynamo
Living Legacy
Nice, thanks guys. I was a little perplexed when I saw this... Bbc84-don't forget the aluminum suspension components too.
chenc544
Nice, thanks guys. I was a little perplexed when I saw this... Bbc84-don't forget the aluminum suspension components too. Just like it says, Spec B has aluminum arms and links to reduce weight. They are identical to the ones on LGT just made from aluminum.
jsaltis
6spd is way smoother than the 5mt (i had an 06gt, now have an 08specb...very happy). Slightly shorter shifts as well and maybe better gear ratios (?) but not sure. Car doesnt feel much faster but definately more enjoyable to drive. dbrunone
6mt is smoother than 5mt 6mt is much more robust than 5mt (handles more power) Spec.B has inverted struts and Bilstein suspension components Spec.B has Torsen LSD in the back Spec.B has 18" wheels and comes stock with pretty good tires Spec.B has alcantara seat inserts Spec.B has navigation with the manual transmission (not sure if you can get that with the new ones, but in 07 you couldnt) Hope that sums it up

Underdog
To me, saying that it is smoother and can handle more power is subjective. I haven't seen any evidence that the spec.b 6MT is stronger, and "smoother" is definitely subjective. The Crimson Dynamo
Throttlejockey
Everything I've heard on here was that it's stronger.I' had an 05 GT and the 6 is definitely smoother shifting. I guess maybe it is subjective. The stock tires are pretty good though. What isn't compared to crappy RE92's???
