370Z info

Recommended Posts

Looks like Nissan is going all out against Porsche's offerings. Apparently the 370Z's target is the Cayman. ~345 hp (350 ps), ~280 ft-lbs and ~3100 lbs. It's interesting that the 370Z could be had with a 7-spd AT. I guess Nissan will start putting this 7-spd AT in all their cars soon. The convertible rendering is not too bad but the coupe one is ugly as sin, hopefully the real car doesn't look that bad.

New pic.

The wacky headlight actually looks decent in this pic.

The rear quarter window has the old school 240Z flavor. The rear wheel arch flares look huge.

Nissan ruined the Z after the 4th generation IMHO.

Nah. They ruined it on the 2nd gen.

06LOB2.5i MT, JDMRSB, GYTTs, HPS, LGT Mufflers & Leather Wheel, SubiMomo Knob, Inalfa Moonroof, Clutch Switch Bypass, DeDRLd, DeChimed, & Straight Headrest.

I like the classic Zs for what they are, the 80's wedges not as much. (FC-RX7 is a nicer 80's wedge, FD-RX7 is on the podium of greatest sports car designs ever...) and I like the 90's arch-roof 300ZXs quite a bit.

I want to like the 350z, but the details betray it, and the new, more photorealistic silver pic makes me not like the 370Z.

I see a lot of old school 240Z cues in the 370Z rendering.

The headlights and the fans are certainly wacky, but it's very Japanese. Reminds me of anime robot designs, which incidentally is the inspiration for the GT-R as well.

Love it, I have always thought these were very well proportioned cars.

I always wonder how high in numbers they are going to go. Will it be 1000Z one day?

The numerical designation has always corresponded to the displacement of the 6 cylinder in the Z. So if Nissan decided to put a 10.0L V6 in the Z one day there will be a 1000Z...

Thanks, but I think I would take the resto-mod classic.

Everything nicely unique about the original has been modernized badly in the new rendering, and ruined. the angles are too sharp, the surfaces are too broad, and just clumsier execution.

Nissan ought to take a cue from Dodge and Chevy and do a total retro design based upon the original Z car. It is such a classic design that I don't think it would look nearly as "throw back" as the new Challenger or the new Camaro.

The new Z looks like a Maxima from the back... :spin:

Not only no, but hell no... There are more than enough retro sports car going around, besides they already tried that back in '99 and it was awful...

They went back to the drawing broad and came back with the 350Z.
