JOE_1985 Posted October 6, 2008 Share Posted October 6, 2008 im back and not happy heres the scoop, im going to make it as cliffnote as possible -got turbo replaced at 56xxx -drive about 30 miles car makes rattling noises again -drove like a old man for 2k -changed oil -rattling continues but has gotton worse since turbo was replaced -drop car off at subaru -one week later get phone call saying car drove fine no noises herd - drive over to dealership pop hood crank car and service wirter hears loud metallic rattling right away -tech works on my car comes out and says its rod knock -leave car there and wait for tear down -drive 87 toyota truck(reliable vehicle) -month later get a call saying that since the noise isnt continuous that i should wait till it gets worse due to the fact that engine may still be within spec, if i chose to get it torn down now i would be liable for teardown cost if engine is in spec -ask to get it in writing and signed by the service manager, incase my engine explodes after 60k so im not fubar -hes out of town till monday -pissed cause this is another 20 dollars worth of gas im going to spend in gas -today drove to st augustine and back -car sounds like absolute shit -currently looking at other subarus for sale orrrrr a toyota i really like my 05, its rare, love the ride, but i feel like im getting the run around on my car, out of the 3 or 4 problems ive had only 1 has been fixed(window switch), if this how its going to be i may be better off with another car, my 310,000 mile celica has less problems Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

JOE_1985 Posted October 8, 2008 Share Posted October 8, 2008 well i think i may call soa, again, soon. btw my cans wont just hook up to stock exaust i do have stock 500 mile 08 2.5i cans collecting dust as for using only sbaru filters, its really sad if you have to use one single dealership filter which is probally made by wix, which would be a rebaged napa gold filter, in order no to have a engine failure. I do find it very helpful how the dealership keeps trying to scare me out of getting my car fixed, or can find anything wrong , never had any problems till i went to the dealer, lesson learned. FWIW, I have brought my car to the dealer since day 1. It's not very costly and every record is on file (I have them too). This way if anything goes wrong...I'm covered. I think that was also due to Clay still being there! i dont know if there is a 2nd person in there again or if Kay is the only one but i dont take my car in unless i really need to! i do all my work that is major! Thankfully, I haven't had any major problems with my car *knocks on wood*. My 60k is coming up pretty soon. Manish, do you think you could ask your guy if clutch issues are covered under the 60k powertrain warranty? I have a squeak when I engage my clutch, and I want to see if it can be fixed. That would be the only reason I take it in for service. I also need to look at that letter I got from SOA about the wheel bearing issue (that I haven't had). Yes she showed me the pictures and she told me that kelly had a shoot with an austin martin and she was bummed b/c she didnt get to do it too! the pictures of tina look great though. i havent seen the ones of kelly with the AM but if you do another one with tina she would love to do something like that! i STILL havent got a payment from magnetdropout so the other set may be up for grabs if my wife doesnt have it in her hands by tues! i cant wait to get back to jax!
