Another tidbit......

No 6.2L.....

we wil only see the 6.0 but tuned to 400hp

Even though it's not a possibility right now I keep hoping they will offer a wagon in the states.

On the GM dealer network site, it lists the GXP as having the LS3 6.2L V8.

Well I do:cool:

The blue is iffy for me. I love blue, but the purple tint is kinda killing it for me. I wish it was more like the B5 Blue Dodge is using in their 2008 SRT8 Super Bee. I would definitely need to see the Stealth Blue in person.

Second choice - black with black/red interior.

The Charger R/T against the G8, are you serious, the charger SRT-8 is a closer match

They did that already. I think they did as a full article compairing it to the R/T, because the price is much closer to the G8 than the SRT8.

But, they did compare both, and said the SRT8 was just a .1 or .2 seconds faster than the G8.

I can see some problems on the horizon for GM and the importation of G8 to North America. Namely the exchange rate between Australia $ and US $. When GM started committing to this the exchange rate was something like AUS $1 = US $ 0.75. This morning the Aussie dollar was trading at it highest since 1984. The Aus $1 = US $0.94 !!!! This means the cost of importing the car has climbed 25% already and ecomomist are predicting that the AUS $ could actually climb past the US $ by years end. The Euro has also hit a high against US $ as well.

What does this mean to US buyers? Higher cost more than likely or much lower profits for GM.

Thats why when the GXT or whatever they call it comes out for the price of the SRT8 charger it is going to blow its doors off.

If the GT can already hang with the SRT8 the GXT will run mid to low 12's and put the charger out of business

Since it is expected that the GXP will get around 425hp then it will be a low 13 second/high 12 second car.

Hope I'm not doubling up here since I couldn't be bothered with all 13 pages of this but.. FYI - Holden have previously experimented with an AWD system in the Monaro (the base for the Pontiac GTO) .. http://www.webwombat.com.au/motoring/news_reports/hsv-coupe-4.htm

I don't think it rated too well due to the extra weight of the AWD system which btw Holden also have available in a station wagon format and kind of modern day 4 door El Camino

Unfortunately the G8 is a bit of a fat pig already. A heavy AWD system would likely not add to the driving experience.

1. Not to be rehashed for the 500th time... The G8 weight is right on par for a V8 full size sedan. 550i, E550, M45 all weigh within 100 lbs.

2. Unlike the last Holden attempt at AWD the G8 platform was designed to accommodate AWD. An AWD system could be with less of a weight penalty.

Good Call.. Sign me up! ... as long as the front drive could be disconnected ala traction control :D
