Have any of you guys seen the Subaru ad they run w/ Globe Trekker on PBS (Travel Channel doesn't run the ad)?

It's actually a decent ad (Outback)...something along the lines of..."The world is your playground, are you getting dirty enough?" Shows an outback on a switchback road...rally style.

I don't know why they only run this ad (one of the best suby ad's I've seen) on PBS...

Subaru lost an purchase from a friend who thought Subaru's were too "fragile" and wimpy. He said he'd break them. I told him our engine can hold 400 HP - easy, and tranny's - nearly as much...

no dice. Lame ass Ricky Commercials instead. Sissified our cars!

I'm pleasantly surprised... It was most certainly worth the couple bucks and 10 mins of my time.

It's really unfortunate.

As most of us know, the Legacy in Japan is known as a high performance sedan/wagon which is admired by many enthusiasts.

Over here, it's seen as the equivalent of a Camry or Accord. I'm sure that most of the general public isn't even aware that it's equipped with AWD... let alone a turbocharger.

Out of curiosity, has anyone ever seen an ad for Legacy at all? I don't think I've EVER seen one. It's no wonder my friends are amazed at my car and its abilities when they step in for a ride.

"Six weeks ago, Subaru added product planning to Mr. Mahoney's duties, a coup since it's the first time an American is leading that area in the U.S. for the Japanese-owned automaker. "

Literally the best news I heard since Y2K was fake! This may mean that someone who is in touch with our country might make some decisions regarding our cars. SOA FTW..... maybe

How do you know? The guy has only been in charge for 6 weeks. Surely you can't blame the past decisions on him.

The Legacy just got bigger, more plush and camry like with this guy... :spin:

The next generation Legacy has no choice but to get larger. The current Legacy sedan (BL) actually has one cubic foot less interior passenger space than the new Impreza, which has increased its interior passenger volume from 88 to 94 cubic feet.

I wanna see an ad where a subaru stops a plane or drives over a see saw

Actually, a good one would be an outback XT driving off road, then gets back onto pavement, and smokes a Porchse Boxter while it's all covered in mud or something

I must of missed that part

Well as far as I know, Porsche doesn't have any wagons and they haven't updated their "look" for quite a while, I don't see too much excitement coming to Subaru for a while with this guy.

He was in charge of marketing at Porsche, not product design ;)

As recently as July, Subaru tapped its gay-and-lesbian agency, Moon City Productions, New York, for the first time for a general-market campaign, for the launch of the 2008 Impreza WRX. Moon City worked with Interpublic's R/GA, New York, on the online side of the blitz.

this makes more sense now. anybody remember this ad?

HA HA!

My friends would rip me if they saw a commercial advertising my car on Fire Lane! I didn't know that people targeted specific sexual communities for cars, although it does make sense since I see so many chicks with more hair on their legs and armpits than their heads driving outbacks. I always thought they were hippies, but maybe they are gay hippies..... Oh the odor is so bad between their pits and the rot of their self righteous smugness.

Back on track, super hot chicks like Vanessa Shagwell should drive Subys!
