2006Specb122
I think I might have sprayed some clay lube on my intercooler. I heard that soap was bad for it but not life threatening. How about clay lube? Should I have it inspected?

Vimy101
but if it was an 06, it would be ok, right? Nope. The OP has an 06 Spec. Probably even worse. This is what can happen even to the 06 Spec.B. http://picasaweb.google.com/Mufatu/SpecBMeltdown?authkey=5IqOH0k6b5s

2006Specb122
What is clay lube anyway? Is that like KY? Clay lube is a spray that you use when claying the car... see clay bar .... It pulls out stuff from your paint...instead of waxing and rubbing things into your paint... I just wasn't being careful enough and got a couple squirts into the intercooler area....quickly hosed down.... I'm hoping it's going to be ok... pillboy
Can't clay the intercooler without lube. A clean intercooler is an efficient intercooler. I do it all the time. It is still ugly.

Pillboy, That is a refreshing thing to hear you say. You clay your intercooler? If that's the case then getting a little lube on my intercooler is OK. Thank you! I had not thought about possibly claying it.... I will try it later today...
2006Specb122
OK....just started and it isn't pretty... Maybe I ddin't have enough lube but about a dozen of those little aluminum fins came out with the clay.... I did not want that to happen.... now what
Gire
 Putting the fins back is easy. Do you own a 10lb sledge hammer? You can figure out the rest...
