antny
Is there any reason that the throw out bearing that you guys sent wont work. You sent me a act throw out bearing part number RB833 and it will not work with the release fork? My car is in the air and my mechanic lives 2 ours away. Any answers? or suggestions? luckily my other friend had a rs release fork we are gonna try

antny
I got it to work with an older imprezza shift fork yesterday luckily. I was just hoping I could have gotten a fast reply yesterday.
sleepin gt
sorry about that. it must have been a freak accident when it was originally packaged.... we've installed plenty with no prob. very glad it worked out though!!! Remember, it will engage a little low for the first day or so, but it gets much better with a little time. Thanks!! antny
Oh yes it engages really low. The first time I let off on it I felt like I was 12 again learning how to drive a stick.
LittleBlueGT
Real low, like right off the floor? Did you have to adj the clutch pedal at all? antny
Not on the floor low but when it grabs it grabs. I didn't adjust my pedal one bit. I can live with it and adapt to anything on the car.

mwiener2
^^ Nope it's a StreetLite Flywheel. Â When I called ACT Last week they mentioned to me that they were short on stock and to hurry up and call one of their two big distributors if I wanted one anytime soon. GT-L
why is the race spec less expensive than the street spec?
mwiener2
It's a simpler design made with simpler materials My Mods List (Updated 8/22/17) 2005 Outback FMT Running on Electrons

tytek
How about Clutchmaster for '06+ WRX? JSC sells them... http://www.jscspeed.com/wrx/wrx_base.html And a flywheel... http://www.jscspeed.com/wrx/wrx_base.html I need a new kit, but still trying to find something for around $600-$750 for a full kit (cluthc kit and a flywheel). mwiener2
Since Cluctchmasters uses NOS in their description of their clutch, they lost my interest. Their flywheel is 11lbs which is gonna be a little too light for comfortable driving. sleepin gt
i have all parts for this kit in stock. including flywheels.
sutter2k
Whats wrong with using the wrx oem flywheel with the ACT clutch?? Its cheap and still lighter than the legacy one. You still need the flywheel to have some mass.
mwiener2
It's not a matched set and therefore it is uncertain if it will work as well as a matched set My Mods List (Updated 8/22/17) 2005 Outback FMT Running on Electrons
LittleBlueGT
It's not a matched set and therefore it is uncertain if it will work as well as a matched set I disagree, it is still for an 06 rex, worked on my car. mwiener2
well, actually, I guess if they have the same dimensions and the only thing different is weight, then yes, I guess it would work My Mods List (Updated 8/22/17) 2005 Outback FMT Running on Electrons
HansGT
what about the strength of the '06 OEM WRX Fly? Your upgrading the clutch strength (ACT or other)...what about the fly...doesn't matter?
mwiener2
For the most part, the Flywheel is just a hunk of metal. (except with the stock DMF) They're pretty durable so long as the manufacturing process is done well. The stock WRX one should be just as strong, if not stronger than the ACT, but only because it has more mass to it. But I could be wrong and maybe the ACT Flywheel uses some fancy process and it's stronger. It's not an issue for most people.
