I've never bathed my cats though - and I've owned cats my whole life. Longer hair cats need grooming or their fur can become a matted mess. Also if your cat gets very dirty for some unusual reason (skunk, fall or roll into something nasty, etc.) it's usually not worth waiting for them to clean themselves up... I can tell you though - my dogs would be terrified of that machine too. They don't like getting a bath, but human touch does a hell of a lot to calm them down. Shut them in an iron maiden like that and they will be a nervous wreck during/after and nearly as traumatized as that poor cat.
