Subaru Legacy GT B 2007 3D model

Recommended Posts

What I want to do a part from the kit is 3D model insight on the rear and headlights so I can put Led designs in them. So mount for Leds with custom shapes. I have seem the custom headlights and rear lights as well as the price with the stoke could do similar at less than 20% of the price. Luckily I have a big enough machine to cover those. For the kit I will probably just build up my big machine and 3d print them then take the machine apart again for spares lol

I have just drilled down on the free model... Sadly its not to scale....

While I continue to dig for that I'm busy designing other things... Like a replacement airbox drop in that can take a cone filter... The same design in the existing pipe where the MAF gets mount for the air flow and pipe diameter left the same... Thinking about it now as well one may be able to use the stock box and cutout the pipe section and just glue and tidy up the pipe being put into the stock box.

But will see how far I get as next up is the front grill

Are you talking about the front of the model? In the middle of the yellow highlighted area?

I revised the grill which I'm going to double check measurements with the original. I was thinking that I may be able to print the grill in TPU 95A which would make it very easy to mount to the existing grill with epoxy.

Yeah that's the area I was thinking. When you print are you printing the whole grill or just the honeycomb? If just a honeycomb insert then that lip won't matter.

For testing only honeycombs. Want to check dimensions and positioning. Want to get this done so I can get to the side mirrors.

How big is your printer? The front grill is a big piece. I bough honeycomb material from customcargrills.com, they’ll also send you a sample. Most who have done this use weather strip to hide the line between the grill and the outer edge.

Big one that I switch on once in a while is 400x400x800mm. Normal day to day ones are 200 x 200 x 200 and the other 400 x 400 x 400 excluding the resin one

Anyone have the TGV 3D model by any chance... I was thinking that may end up deleting it and it could potentially just be 3D printed instead of bought or all the cutting...

Not from personal experience, but that of others here:

There is a reason why you used to be able to find plastic/resin/composite TGVs on the market as a replacement for the aluminium ones, but no longer do. They weren't any good, and didn't stand up to the heat in the bay under hard use. Apparently even the thick phenolic spacers were not enough to keep them from warping and causing leaks.

So, YMMV, but the general consensus is to either chop up and plug the holes in your OE TGVs, or get a set or tailor mades from your speed parts producer of choice.

Does anyone know the dimensions or hole positions for the secondary air pump deletes (LGT 07) on the back of the engine for both plates by any chance? I want to 3D model them then cut them out in aluminum since I am going to do the TGV delete and remove IM.

So created the Spec B badge as close to the original as possible from an image

I have next to zero experience 3d printing. I'm wondering if this could be used to 3d print a new matte black badge for the rear of my car. Been looking for a while for black badging and found nothing
