LegacyGT007
I would test the positive from the power wire to car body. You should get the 12v.
Tehnation
It was the ground wires.
Tehnation
900 dollars later..... guess I just need to get new speakers and bridge the two speaker amps lol.
xt2005bonbon
What are you going to do? Return the new amps?
Tehnation
Hello no, its just a reason to make my system louder, I have 300 and 400 watt bridgeable amps, so might as well get speakers that can handle more power, I need a a front component 200 watt rms per channel and a 3 way 150 watt rms for the rears.
xt2005bonbon
What is the total RMS wattage?
Code
I never even use my stereo. Forced-induction soundtrack is all I need… 1 "Striving to better, oft we mar what's well." - Bill Shakespeare - car modder
xt2005bonbon
No stereo sound in my 06 either. The exhaust sound is my music. However, the 05 has aftermarket audio stuff for long road trips.
Tehnation
1 hour ago, xt2005bonbon said: What is the total RMS wattage? Cant remember but my speakers are like 80-100 rms each, subs are max 350 rms each
Tehnation
I may return the sub amp and keep the speaker amp. I can't find any high rms speakers, whats happened to crutchfield, I only see 100w rms speakers.
xt2005bonbon
If you are talking about mids/highs, 100w rms per speaker is plenty, especially times 4. Add high sensitivity to the mix and they'll be plenty loud. You should also check partsexpress btw.
Tehnation
It looks like the e85 ethanol content in my area is pretty high. Every time I top of the tank the percentage goes up, I'm up to 74% at the moment, hoping I can get it up to 80%. Pump says it can be as high as 83% can't remember the low end number. LegacyGT007
Where abouts are you getting it that high? I can only find 65% near me in Dutchess County.
Tehnation
Westchester County, Conoco Gas Stations have E85. The one I go to is about 15 minutes from my house, but its on the way back from work, so its convenient. https://www.conoco.com/station-finder/ They are all over Southern NY it seems.
LegacyGT007
Thanks for the information. Now I know where to go when I'm in that area.
05gtripper
Sweet thread- learning some! I'm also looking into kitting my 05lgt onto e85 fuel. Seen a few vids & words on how to adjust ROM/map on such. Like 30%more fuel. Thus upgraded injectors needed. But the fuel lines & stuff I worry about/dont wanna do the whole length of vehicle & cant be asked to drop tank, etc as it's currently my only vehicle. (Ive had fuel punp out tho) def stay on MAF for me, currently. Why the need for that intercooler tapping for S.D.? (closer to intake/turbo) Owner of thread-- you ought to get a tactrix cable & a laptop. You can tune your own shit (after 100hrs of reading & logging data lol) I like it- basically incapable at this moment but I could def break the vehicle lol. I have little interest in getting a legit 'flex fuel' kit as I dont intend on running 7 gals of e85 then 91 straight then 89 then e85. 2 maps-- 2 fuels. I desire e85 as ONE spot sells it 20miles away in MT-- & i want the xtra power. Yet 166k on stock engine- itll break. Need a new turbo too i feel. List goes on. But im def into e85 before a fmic Ive decided. Im keeping this thing for my unborn son Ive also decided lol (dont sell wht you own if not NEEEEEDED) Im down to 'field' it for 20yrs but also then it rlly be fkd & then i need to double down on a good life so I can fund a new engine build & shit in yrs to come. Idk- rather kit this 'project car' as it's my daily or by a 'lunker' 06 chevy 5.3 as a daily (pickups better than cars) & repair both as I can.
