I'd also like to take a trip down there. Also, emorphien, if you're interested, the Porsche and bmw clubs have track days down there. It's something like 300 for the day of instruction and racing. I might take my Eagle Talon or the Legacy down in 2006. -Scott

Xenonk
^ I might have to get with you guys and come up for Watkins Glen.. definitely post some infos and the dates for that.. I would like to run a full weekend and the Glen with some fellow Legacy owners. Chris, looking good on the prep work, seems like they basically put the GT on a lockdown... it's so close to showroom stock specs compared to everyone else Keefe

I would like to run a full weekend and the Glen with some fellow Legacy owners. That'd be cool to have a few legacy's there. I'm trying to get some information from friends now; not sure they have the dates laid out for 2006 yet... but if it's similar to 2005, there were some early (may, june) dates and some later summer dates (july, august and september). Edit, here's the porsche club's 05 schedule. I'd imagine 06 to be similar (you don't have to own a porsche to join the events) http://vista.pca.org/flk/calendar.shtml Edit #2, the 2006 schedule is already up at theglen.com: http://www.theglen.com/track/TrackSchedule.jsp Edit 3#, the event that I'm probably going to is likely going to be on June 5th and 6th. The registration will probably open in February and it usually fills up quite quickly. If you are interested, pm me.

rporter
What does it take to get onto the track at Watkins Glen. Hook up with a group doing a track day there. Most groups that I've known will let in "other" cars. FWIW, here's a good site for track days (east of the Mississippi...don't know if there is one like it west of the Mississippi). Go down to the Calendar section: http://www.trackschedule.com/ Ron
RochNY91TSI
^^Yep, that's exactly it. Join (that is, go with) the car clubs that already have setup sessions there.

Shag-e
I've taken the LGT to the Glen for opening day under pace laps (hit 120), but have never had the money to do a track school. I'm hoping to make it to one this year!

ChrisLock
Whoa. Is the team trying to make the 24 at the end of January? Please PLEASE be there...I will be We plan to be testing at the beginning of next year. If there are no bugs to sort out and the car seems fast out of the box, we may try to hit the Daytona race. But to clarify, this car is classed into ST. It won't be part of the 24 hour event, but the 200 mile Cup race the day before. There is a 12 hour event at VIR in september that may become a 24 hour event, and that is definately on our hit list .

ChrisLock
We are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. All we have left is wiring harnesses, fuel cell and lines, and vinyl. We plan on testing at buttonwillow the 13,14, and 15th of January, then it's in the truck to Daytona. http://www.gotoracing.com/images/legacysmall/100_0662_disp512.jpg http://www.gotoracing.com/images/legacysmall/100_0663_disp512.jpg http://www.gotoracing.com/images/legacysmall/100_0664_disp512.jpg http://www.gotoracing.com/images/legacysmall/100_0665_disp512.jpg http://www.gotoracing.com/images/legacysmall/100_0666_disp512.jpg http://www.gotoracing.com/images/legacysmall/100_0667_disp512.jpg http://www.gotoracing.com/images/legacysmall/100_0668_disp512.jpg http://www.gotoracing.com/images/legacysmall/100_0669_disp512.jpg

ChrisLock
Looks nice! Would love to hear a list of powertrain components as well as brakes and suspension in use. Sorry to disapoint. The powertrain is being left untouched, per Grand-Am spec sheet. Ecutech only. Even the stock mufflers had to be left on! Of course all the cats were removed and replaced with straight pipe. Other mods of interest: Motec ADL2 from Crawford Performance. DMS 50mm Road Race Struts/Shocks. RacingBrake 2 piece OEM replacement rotors. Hotchis Tuning sway bars Goodridge brake lines Tilton brake bias adjusters Racetech seat and harnesses I am not worried about power at all. Sometimes I wish it made a little less even. With how much grand-am is making us weigh(3050 dry, no driver!) to compensate, this car may be a bear in tight traffic. I guess we will see in 2 weeks. tsyGT
I hope you don't have to use the stock tires too! j/k It doesn't look like it's dropped any from you pics. Also, do you disable the ABS? You'll have to tell us how it does on the track! I like how you've done the interior. Maybe you should make the exterior a little more menacing. tom
