Second that. Looks like you've got more space than my 3 car garage does as a whole.

Thanks, there is 784sqft. of floor space. The depth is a big plus.

Electrician just showed up, he'll install the heater in the breezeway first.

I may have missed it, but are you thinking of putting down an epoxy or other type of coating on the concrete floor?

I've decided not to. I've thought a lot about it. People survived for decades without that. It's just a garage floor. I have plenty of large cardboard pieces to put down. Have thought about buying a large piece of cheap vinyl flooring, for $75 can get a 12'x12' vinyl from Home Depot. I can roll it out when/if needed...

Just plugged the openers into a wall socket with an extension cord until the Electrician finishes the electrical install, downloaded the APP, can open both doors from her phone or mine, and the remotes.

I put both cars in the garage Friday afternoon, haven't opened the doors since. It was bitter cold for the past two days with wind. This morning was -3F outside, garage was at 31F. So once the heater is installed, it shouldn't cost too much to keep at 45F or so.

Some siding progress. Along with the stairs inside and the deck being attached to the garage.

Those stairs inside the garage are a bit of a pain, unless you put the car in deeper, then it's not an issue. That's one + to the 28ft deep. I did just back her car in, that does solve that issue as long as there's not a passenger, even where I parked the car you can open the passenger side door and get in/out, just can't open the car door full width, but if I backed up another foot, there's no issue.

The siding guys showed up at 7:30AM today, air temp was 8F with a light wind. It's now 15F sunny, with a light wind. Back of the garage is sided, which is fully shaded now.

Be glad if you have a job that's inside.

Some lunchtime photos.

The Mr. Heater is working too. YEAH. Garage was up to almost 60F to burn off the fumes from the heater. I'll set it lower than that for most of the time.

Played in the garage today. The Siders did show up at 7:30AM, but it was 3F they decided to not work today. They'll be back on Monday to hopefully finish.

Damn cell phone picture. When you click on it, it opens right side up.

In case of any spills, this product has helped me pull year old transmission oil stains from paving stones in my driveway.

For some reason the forum is redirecting my Amazon links to Walmart. The price per bottle is about $16, not the $36 at Walmart.

Getting real close to being done. Need gutters and the garage door seals and decorative handles. Then way till spring for the driveway and landscaping.

Looking very nice Max. Who came up with the two lights(Windows/Glass) above the overhead doors? Just wondering because we don't see that around here and it's a nice touch. It really changes the look and I'm sure helps with interior natural lighting.

What's the plan for landscape? DIY or hired out? Driveway is asphault wider and more betterer....we covered that.

The light's over the doors is pretty common around this area. I'll do the front landscaping once Spring time comes. The driveway and right side and back of the garage will be done by the contractor. The plan is to asphalt the side area along the garage for the parking the old F150 and the wagon.

Yes, we plan to widen the driveway from the street to 12ft wide on the front lawn side, so it makes it easier getting in/out the left bay/house side of the garage.

Thinking about a small planter area at that useless corner to the right of the steps and garage door. It's about 40" square and might make a nice place for a small cone shape tree, like by the front door of the house. We made the electrical outlet on the front porch switched from inside the kitchen, so she can turn off the xmas lights without having to go outside.

  • 3 weeks later...

Been enjoying the garage. It was nice last Sunday, when it was cold outside, I bumped the heater up, so it was about 50F inside, so I could check the right front brake on the Spec. Nice to have all the tools close and warm this time of year.

Today it was 58F outside, so I painted the white trim inside, getting ready to paint the walls a sand color soon. I picked up the HF 30" tool cart in orange. It will fill up fast, but I do have other tool storage boxes. I just wanted something I could move around easy and have the tools I use most. If I need, I can always buy a second one, if needed.I'll wait until the walls are painted and move the work bench in and put an orange aluminum peg board over it.

I have the common combo wrenches on 18" magnetic stripes now. I'll move those to the top of the tool cart.

I'll post pictures after the walls are painted.

Oh, yeah, those Harbor Fright 8000 lumens screw in lights are amazing. There is so much light in the garage. If you open the picture in post 111 you can get an idea how bright they are.

Thanks, the gutters did get installed yesterday. Surprising how well they match the gutters and trim that have been on the house since it was built in 1981.

I guess the next real update will be after the driveway is finished in a couple of months.

Today I had to clean up the front a little. Finally, getting nicer to work outside. The driveway company will be here next Thursday to measure and give us a price. I'm also going to have them widen the driveway about 3FT on the house side. It will make is easier to back out of the garage before you need to turn the wheel to continue down the angled driveway.

Also, Monday, the garage door people will install a replacement panel and the decorative hinges and handles.

Looking good.

Did you have a dinged up panel during install or shipping? Kind of common unfortunately.

To be honest, I know they mentioned something when they did the install, but all I heard was, "they will be back to replace a panel".
