boxkita
I put sockets in the ceiling. Made it easy to plug in power tools without running cords on the floor. Also put one individual circuit with #10 wire to a quad outlet on each wall. Electrician bitched about doing it, but has allowed for high draw tools to be plugged in that weren't planned for. Thanks, yes, there are plenty of outlets where I'd need them. With 10ft 8 inch ceilings, I have wall outlets. But there will be 6 light fixtures in the ceiling. I can always change the socket to one with an outlet. Also, the compressor will be on its circuit in the front corner. The electrician and builder are also car guy's. There is an outlet about the work bench for hanging lights. The sheet rock got delivered this morning at 7:30AM. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. Great idea, I know i been places there there was conduits that came down from the ceilings and an a quad outlet which was great for keeping cords off the ground

ehsnils
Wait, how are you fitting R21 in 2x4 walls? Even R15 is a tight squeeze! You can also do it if you have a zig-zag pattern of 2x4. Something to consider when you want to improve sound isolation between rooms.
Max Capacity
One of these may show the 2x6 better. Sorry, don't know why it posted sideways. Max Capacity
Sheet rock is ready for paint. I'll say, it's currently 26F outside. In the garage, it's above 70F. Feels great knowing I can have that warm space this time of year. I have been cycling the portable heater to keep the sheet rock putty from freezing, helping it cure fully. Max Capacity
Another Friday, not much done this week other than most of the trim work and the door installed in that opening above. Garage doors are scheduled for late next week. Siding well be installed ....someday... 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). whitexc
Doors look nice. Chain drive openers? Looks like the eye wiring is buried in the wall? Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk
Max Capacity
Yes, all wires are in the walls. The electrician will be here tomorrow to finish what he can. Not sure the outside lights will go up until after the siding... The builder will be back tomorrow to work on the installation of the window trim, in the bedroom, see post 68. Had to make new trim that I stained and poly coated to match. The Propane tank will move to the back of the garage and the heater will be installed next Tuesday. The outside of the doors will just get handles and not fake hinges, we can add hinges later if needed. whitexc
Nice. We have that opener with the MyQ app. Kind of nice to know when the kids leave the door wide open lol. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk
Max Capacity
I'm on the other side of the coin, I don't see a reason for it...until you posted your comment. I even asked the guy if there are still the push button remote for the cars. No kids in the house. But I can understand what you're saying. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. whitexc
The kids thing and I also have too many vehicles for the two remotes it came with so I use the App in my work truck. The family business (that I'm not really involved in....) is overhead door sales and svc so I could get another remote but I just haven't seen the need. You will get good service from those openers. Your attic access.....is that just a pass though or drop down stairs? I am going to put a set of dropdown stairs in our garage come spring so we can utilize that as storage. Too much wasted space up there to not utilize. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk Edited January 14, 2022 by whitexc
Max Capacity
We did talk about the storage space, but with almost 11ft ceiling, didn't feel the need as we have a 10'x20' shed that is 10 years old now and the 8'x10' now behind the garage. The small shed may be in one of the first photos in this thread. I also seem to recall they will blow in more insulation above the garage once the heater is installed. There is R49 bat's laid in now. My son is close to having a 20'x28' garage built in his yard, he's also trying to justify the 400sqft storage above based on cost. It will/may have outside stairs up the back side on the gable end. His house has a 3 car attached. Edited January 14, 2022 by Max Capacity 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD).
