cww516
Assuming you have one of those little USB C to micro USB adapters, USB OTG adapters are probably easier to come by than USB C male to USB A female cables. They're pretty cheap on Amazon, I picked up a pair for about $7, IIRC.
YeuEmMaiMai
OK I checked for vacuum leaks and I could not hear any...next step bottle of brake clean and I am going to spray the intake manifold around where it mates to each head...I am guessing leak when cold that seals as engine warms up

A vacuum gauge is handy post throttle body. I've used starting fluid to find them but typically I remove and plug lines to isolate issues, but that's on older cars with fewer vacuum lines. Vacuum will be highest at warm idle and you should be pulling a solid 21". If the needle is fluctuating something is out of balance. If its solid but low like 19" or less, there is a leak somewhere. YeuEmMaiMai
well I sent OBDlinx a support e-mail on Monday at 6am CST They replied back same day stating someone would be with me.... here we are 2 days later, nada... gonna add OBDLinx to the suck column here in a minute. Well here it is Friday and still no response. I am done with this crap, their stuff does not work and their support sucks. obd solutions is the parent company that makes that product

YeuEmMaiMai
I got a reply from obd solutions and they stated that since their tech support never got back to me after 5 working days (still no reply as of today) they offered to send me a OBDLinx MX+
Shadow_419
Get a vag-com cable and usb otg adapter if you can. Ut works and it's cheap. Just as insurance incase the new Bluetooth adapter doesn't work out

YeuEmMaiMai
here is a data log. I can only grab 4 items at a time so tell me what you wantCar Scanner live data session 20181210151531.csv
Shadow_419
Manifold pressure : ensuring good vacuum Knock Coolant temp Afr maybe Btssm only allows you to log 4 fields at a time? Could have sworn I logged more than that.
YeuEmMaiMai
naw until I get this issue sorted out with the OBDLinx I am limited to a regular ELM module and Car Doctor Pro in Windows. Finally after 7 days and a message of them saying to use scantool.net, they think the modem is tango uniform and stated they will be in touch with a replacement RMA

Shadow_419
I'm having all kinds of trouble opening the log. I've tried like 3 different excel viewers and they all have issues. Granted it's on my phone. You notice any issue with coolant temp or knock events?
FLlegacy
I have used my galaxy s9+ with the Hancomb office suite to open some CSV logs before and it worked alright.
YeuEmMaiMai
this morning's log including manifold absolute pressure edit: Site wants to save as a .php file, just change the ext back to .csvCar Scanner live data session 201812125557.csv
YeuEmMaiMai
question, Where is the Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor on this car? Looks like this could be an issue. EDIT: nevermind it is right in front of my face on the top of the intake manifold.... when I first start the car MAP is 6.24PSI at the end of my trip idling in the parking lot warmed up it is 4.64PSI it takes the car 22minutes to go from a coolant temp of 116 (car was running for about 3 minutes when the data logger finally connected) to 192.2F 10 miles later
dgoodhue
I can't read the attach files on my laptop either, by using CSV or not. It is not uncommon for the idle vacuum to be higher when cold vs warmed up. At 1st glance the pressure seems low to me, but I guess it depends on that the signal is using as a reference. I would have to look at it further.
YeuEmMaiMai
the idle vacuum is actually opposite of what I would expect Atmosphere is 30.54 12.70 HG when cold 9.45 HG when warm
dgoodhue
I am trying to wrap my head around the reference. Is that suppose to be 30.54-12.7 = 17.84" HG and 30.54-9.45 = 21.09" HG? Does the vacuum (or PSI) go down when you driving and step on the gas?
YeuEmMaiMai
no those are the values reported at idle cold and idle warm. respectively there is something wrong when the car is cold
YeuEmMaiMai
OK got new OBDlinx MX+ will pair with car tomorrow. what is best protocol to use with BTSSM
Shadow_419
Those numbers are way off what you should have. Vaccum is usually 18-20in hg at warm idle. Looking for a vaccum leak would be my first order of business. Btssm says k-line unless you have a patched tune that supports can bus with that adapter. Shadow_419
Thinking about your values, get the values from btssm first. The other values may have been uncorrected like dgooghue alluded.
YeuEmMaiMai
BTSSM is a big fat bust. loaded up and paired to new OBDLinkMX+ and wouldn't you know it, hangs at querying ECU. Sent them an e-mail but I do not expect much given my experience with recent customer service from [insert some company here]
