CTUSA
Hello I have 2015 Legacy 3.6R. I was wondering if anyone has used Fumoto Oil Drain Valve product ? For my car its a F105N 20mm X 1.5 FUMOTO Engine Oil Drain Valve. Was not sure which one to buy, the length of the nipple that the hose goes on. Thanks for any feedback. securityguy
If you search the forum, there is a lot of discussion on the valve. A lot of folks have it and very happy. Great product. I buy the short nipple valves but you go go with whatever you like best.

TEH
I know this is an old thread - but I am just discovering, I have a 2015 legacy 3.6 and I am looking to add the Fumoto short nipple. I assume everyone is still happy with them? Seems like it would make oil changes much easier!

waynieRS
money well spent ... i have a little 3 inch piece of hose attatched to mine that pokes through my base plate so oil changes just require the flip of a lever and unscrew the filter ... iyalla
Get it if you do your own oil changes. Makes things so easy. Had it on my 05. Now with the oil filter at the top of the engine on my '18 it makes oil change practically a 10 minute job
Painless
I'm intrigued by this. Any chance of posting a pic of your installation and what specific one you are using? (the site shows several)
bookem288
This one works too. Stahlbus Oil Drain Valve Plug M16x1.5x12mm Steel M16 x 1.5 x 12mm
tumbleweed 49
They're great I have had a Fumoto on my lawn tractor for years, no problems. There is also a valve called an EZ which I understand is made by Fumoto, I am using one of those on my Legacy. Just go to Amazon and search for "oil drain valve" and you will see both. The main difference is that the EZ uses an O ring instead of a flat fiber gasket, it is also made of a different material, nickel rather than brass, and you can get one with a removal hose connector. crudzinskas
This one works too. Stahlbus Oil Drain Valve Plug M16x1.5x12mm Steel M16 x 1.5 x 12mm I have this version too under the Valvo Max brand. Nearly identical designs, just was a little better price at the time I got it. aki334
make sure you get the one with the nipple, so you can push on little hose to guide oil into any container.
Call me Q
Having owned both I prefer the Stahlbus. It’s very easy to use and I like the screw-on protective cap.
BeardedWon
When searching for the 2.5i on the fumoto website, it calls for F108. Any reason to look at the F108s? Anyone have an opinion on what we should use for 2019 legacy/Outback?
ammcinnis
When searching for the 2.5i on the fumoto website, it calls for F108. Any reason to look at the F108s? The suffix merely designates outlet style: F108 = no hose nippleF108S = short nipple with snap-on nylon hose adapterF108L = long nipple, hose pushes on Any of these is suitable for a Gen 5 2.5 Legacy or Outback. I have an F108S on both our 2015 Legacy and 2016 Outback, and I like the snap-on hose adapter. If you're worried about valve outlet contamination between oil changes ... a non-issue, IMO ... only the F108L will accept a protective push-on cap. Second oil change coming up for the legacy and first for the Outback.
