  1. My dealer lists the Diff fluid and I have done it once in 100k miles; not sure how often that has to be done but I may look into getting it done again. Also, my dealer doesn't even list CVT fluid change and when asked they say "not necessary, its lifetime"
  2. What did the dealer charge you for this? It's so odd the disparity in service across dealers
  3. Are firmware updates necessary? Any additional or improved functionality by doing it?
  4. Completely agree that not changing the fluid is not logical - I just can't wrap my head around it. Maybe we are just old school
  5. Thanks for the suggestion - I will look into upgrading the rear sway bar and strut bars. Also, any suggestion on where to get the 5k HID lights?
  6. Glad we are in the same boat. I find the seats really hard and uncomfortable, especially when I was commuting for so long in them. I may look into adding some additional padding. Overall the car is great, it rides a bit harsh, maybe a suspension upgrade would help, but really I am not sure its worth the expense. I don't understand why dealers are so against changing the CVT fluid, especially at the 100k+ mileage?
  7. Hey all, I have a 2015 Legacy 3.6r that I was using as my daily driver while commuting 140 miles per day prior to the pandemic. It currently has 105k miles on it. I now work from home and no longer commute so the car gets very little use, and although I was going to sell it and get a new one or something else, I have decided to keep it. The car has been maintained really well, I know what I have, and it's paid off, so no good reason to get rid of it. Now I want to start changing all the lights out to LED's, but I have heard that there could be some issues with interference if I do this, is that true? Should I just leave it as stock? Also wondering if it is worth it to update the firmware and nav software? Any other easy mods to do that are recommended? I am older an not looking to supe it up but I am thinking about upgrading the suspension for a better ride. What else? Maybe some nice interior footwell lighting.... I also need to change the CVT oil, even though the dealer still suggests that I do not do it.
  8. Thanks , I looked at your thread quickly and didn’t see the overview of the install. I will look again- did you do a full instructional? The simplicity of the OEM kit is nice but I assume they are powered on all the time since there is no switch? I like the idea of the switch
  9. Thank you, I think I will try the oem kit. I don’t mind just having blue. Especially if NYLO day it was a pretty easy install. Other than fishing the wire, probably just a pain pulling the dash apart.
  10. I have a 2015 legacy 3.6 with eyesight and I’m looking for a footwell lighting kit. I checked the oem parts and it says that they can’t confirm fit for this model. Anyone add footwell lighting? What kit do you recommend?
  11. Thank you, do you know if it’s 2 separate updates though? One for firmware and one for maps
  12. I have never updated the firmware on my 2015 3.6R, should I do this? I have also never updated the nav maps, is the firmware update and the map update the same thing? Sorry for such a dumb question but I’m trying to determine if this is 2 different updates. I found the map update download on the subaru site for $59 and I was going to do that, but not sure if I have to do anything after that. Please advise
  13. 2015 3.6 with 92k. Been a solid car, just oil changes and brakes. I see others have mentioned tranny recall. Need to look into that
  14. Looking for Nav and firmware update for a 2015 3.6 with NAV. Can someone share the files? It would be greatly appreciated.
  15. Stopped into my dealer yesterday and they said that the CVT fluid is “lifetime”. That’s scary!
  16. Good question - It started with a call to the service department to ask about CVT fluid change, which by the way they said its not recommended to change and that if they do change it, its usually at much higher mileage. I am at 88k miles. I then asked what else should I be prepping for now or before 100k. I specifically asked about these items, thinking it was all due or about to be due since none of it has been done or recommended by the dealer. That's when I was given these prices, but also never told about the power steering
  17. I know this is an old thread - but I am just discovering, I have a 2015 legacy 3.6 and I am looking to add the Fumoto short nipple. I assume everyone is still happy with them? Seems like it would make oil changes much easier!
  18. I have a 2015 Legacy 3.6 and was going to update the maps for the first time but stopped myself as I can't justify the cost since I can just use Waze or Google for free from my phone and the bluetooth. Makes Nav mostly useless
  19. I received the following costs for maintenance items from the dealer - now to decide what I tackle myself versus letting the dealer do it. CVT Fluid Change - $358 Differential fluid change - $98 Brake fluid change - $148 Power steering fluid change - $148 Cooling system fluid change - $118 I haven't done any of these myself yet - but I don't foresee any other than the CVT being basic maintenance that a first timer DIY'er couldn't accomplish
  20. As for changing the plugs, I allowed myself (foolishly) to be talked into it by the dealer.
  21. Thank you, changing brake and CVT fluid will definitely be done with the next oil change. I’m in the process of finding an independent mechanic instead of the dealer. Thanks for the tip on ensuring they purge the calipers too. I will stick with subaru recommended fluids instead of the a Amsoil.
  22. Thank you! I have kept records. All service to date has been at the dealership. I thought it was strange to do the plugs already but the dealer talked me into it. Since I commute so much with the car it’s important to me to keep it maintained. The car is paid off so I don’t want to take on another car payment. I want it to last! That’s why I thinking of doing a full suite of preventative maintenance and switching to Amsoil
  23. I have a 2015 Legacy 3.6r. I believe the headlights are already LED. I would like to change the fog lights to LED as well as the reverse lights and interior lights. Any recommendations or thoughts?
  24. Thanks, I think I will definitely do brake fluid next service
  25. Hey everyone, first time posting and looking for some help and advice on my 2015 Legacy 3.6. I have roughly 88k miles on my car, it has been very solid and reliable, especially since I commute roughly 600 miles per week into NYC. So far I have only done regular oil changes, brakes and a set of plugs around 40k miles. In the past I typically got rid of cars around 100k miles, this one I am considering keeping well beyond that. Since I work and commute so many hours I don’t have time to do the maintenance myself so I have had it done at the dealership. Very expensive! But with that said, since I am considering keeping the car I am wondering a few things that I hope you all could help with: 1) I don’t think the 2015 3.6 has the head gasket issue problem is that true? 2) should I now be changing all fluids; CVT, Differential, Brake? 3) if so, does it make sense to change everything over to Amsoil? 4) change plugs again? 5) radiator and coolant flush? 6) I want to change the fog lights to LED, any recommendations? 7) what else should be done? PCV?, belts? 8) probably going to update the nav maps- just because, even though I don’t really use the car nav. 9) other recommendations? I know it’s going to be expensive, but maybe I can find an independent to do most of this work. I assume with all of this maintenance I could get to 200k with this car? Thank you all for your help!
