Greetings all, I'm running into an oddity that has me confused. I'm installing my old Aukey dashcam from my '19 Legacy into my new '24 Legacy using the fuse-tap. Powers-up and operates normally with ACC power. However, once I start the car, no power (all other car features operating normally). Double checked camera. Swapped camera with a known good camera. Tried a few different F/B Panel fuse locations (No. 29, No. 34, No. 15, No. 2). Has anyone hardwired their dashcam install to the F/B Fuse Panel? If so... Which fuse did you tap into? Which camera are you using? Thanks in advance!

Car is 6 weeks new off the lot and I noticed one spot of paint flaking FWD Center roof (car is garaged). I'll contact the dealership but was curious if anyone else has encountered similar paint issues. 2024 Legacy Premium.

Installed the CD player kit last week and thought I would post my thoughts... $275 online for the kit. Average install labor cost at dealership $375. (Let's just skip "you should have gotten a car that came with one", "there are less expensive options you can buy", "just put your music on a flash drive", "warranty", etc, etc, etc) I just want to share information. First... Thank you avk for the info provided. Second... I would not take this on unless you have 'better than average' maintenance skills. I am an A&P, this is my third legacy, and I do all of my own maintenance. My vehicle has the 11.6" infotainment screen which is not depicted, but is only a minor annoyance. Used the 2020 Legacy / Outback CD Player, Issue 01, Date 04/02/2019 Instructions pdf. There may be updates but I didn't want to drop another $35 to root-around looking. *Take pictures of the Head Unit connections before you remove them. You loose more of the miniscule amount of center console storage available on these models as that's where SOA chose to locate it. I would have preferred it to be in the glovebox like the old Ford Taurus SHO's. I disconnected the battery the night before as I'm paranoid about airbags and there is one located below the steering wheel now where the lower trim panel is removed. They missed a screw towards the center console, bottom of the RH lower dash trim panel. Missed moving the drivers seat forward (if powered) to allow access to the console box bolt before disconnecting the battery. Passenger seat as well (if powered). I ended up moving the shifter back to neutral before removing the shifter knob to give a bit more space to make connections to the Head Unit. I also installed and connected the CD player first, then routed/secured the power and USB harnesses going forward as depicted to insure adequate length to make the connections to the Head Unit. "Reconnect all remaining connectors to radio and telematics module" cracked me up as there are about 12 connections to remake. Most are 'dummy proof'. They didn't say where to connect the smaller power connecter into the Head Unit. Worked that out using process of elimination and taking many *pictures during disassembly. Missed transfer of the little rubber bumpers for the center console top lid to the new console side panels. 3 hours start to finish for me. The Infotainment screen identifies the CD player automatically in the menu under "Media". When selected, the CD screen appears with control buttons (play/shuffle/repeat). I intended to make another installation video, but, time would not allow. Feel free to contact me if you have questions.

Installed Autostop Eliminator and after a week it is performing as advertised. Install location was unusual as it plugs into the eyesight system after removing the sunglasses holder/overhead console. Now always off (disabled).

After downloading the full Service Manual (yes all 12,674 pages), I was poking around and found in the "LIGHTING SYSTEM > Headlight Assembly" section... The High Beam, Low Beam, Parking, Side marker, and DRL bulbs are not replaceable and are all integral of the Headlight Assembly. Looked online and it appears as though the Headlight Assembly is over $400. So... Any one of those bulbs go out it looks like a trip to the dealership for some of us and at least $400 for all of us. Very disappointing evolution.

I have a spare L&R side mirror covers but they may not fit your year. Part number inside says "VB26 A6082-510 R" and "VB26 AB145-547 L". The Subaru P/N I assume to be "91059FL11A" and "91059FL12A". They are from my 2016 & 2019 Legacy's and already painted Crystal White Pearl.

My installation using roughriduz suggestion. I used the center structure as it was straight and close proximity to the socket (the LED strip is rigid). Cleaned the beam first before using the adhesive strip. Threaded the connector through the cage.

Ordered the H621SAN000 for $274.66 including shipping (thanks to avk for providing details of their installation). Dealership quoted ~$600 to install (parts and labor). Once I have an afternoon free, I'll dig into it (and pay myself the $300). There is quite a bit that needs to come apart so probably not this weekend. Maybe put together a youtube video of the installation to share.

Well... Here's my first post to the seventh generation forum after 8 years in the sixth generation forum so hello everyone! Just took delivery of my new 2024 after my '19 Sport was totaled. The other driver ran a red light. Luckily I had a dashcam. My package does not have a CD player and, well, my wife and I are Gen X so we still play CD's in the car. SOA parts look to be $600-$800 or so. I haven't downloaded the Service Manual yet to see if the harness is already installed. Dealership will likely charge waaay too much. Anyone add a CD player to their seventh gen yet?

chowser51 That is the one real drawback with LED's. Won't melt ice/snow. I run into the same issue and just need to be diligent about keeping them clear.

I've had good luck with Hikari LED Headlights (from Amazon).

Looks like the "Outdoor Antenna" is located in the trunk. So your theory makes sense though I have LED's installed for my license plate lights (actually... all of my lights I have upgraded to LED) on both of my Legacys. No issues. I have always rotated at 10k mile intervals. Every other oil change for me (easy to remember). Start looking for deals @ 5/32" then replace all four. Unless its wintertime, then replace all four immediately. No issues for either Legacy relating to tires. Currently: 2016 237,000 miles 2019 124,000 miles

I'm really tempted to paint it black to go along with the "tuxedo" styling I like.

Parsed-out Spark Plug R&R info (includes Ignition Coils) from my '16 Service Manual. It should be similar, if not identical, to your vehicle. I've replaced mine three times so far (twice on my '16 and once on my '19). I remove the battery tray as well to make more room. There are several large bolts holding securing it. One is particularly difficult to remove (wheel well area) and I left it out after the first plug change. It made the second plug change much easier and there is plenty still holding the battery tray securely. I was also able to replace the plugs without disconnecting the ignition coils just by manipulating them around a bit. Drivers-side aft plug was the most difficult. I also recommend a correctly sized magnetic spark plug socket and slightly above average mechanical ability and tooling to get the job done right. (several different 1/4" extensions & swivels).
